Low temperature cooling circulation pump: the "cold source heart" in laboratory and industry
Date: 2025-12-18Read: 0
In modern scientific research experiments, biomedicine, chemical synthesis, and precision manufacturing, many reactions or processes have extremely strict requirements for temperature control, often requiring stable operation in low temperature environments of tens of degrees Celsius below zero. At this point, the low-temperature cooling circulation pump becomes the core equipment. It not only provides continuous and stable circulation of low-temperature liquids, but also precise temperature control, and is known as the "cold source heart" in laboratories and industrial systems.
Low temperature cooling circulation pump is a device that integrates refrigeration, circulation, and temperature control. The basic working principle is to cool the refrigerant to a set low temperature through a compressor refrigeration system, and then transport the refrigerant to external equipment through a built-in low-temperature resistant circulation pump. After absorbing heat, it flows back to the host for re cooling, forming a closed cycle. The entire process can achieve precise temperature control within the range of -80 ℃ to room temperature, with a temperature control accuracy of ± 0.1 ℃.
This device is widely used in multiple key fields. In chemical and pharmaceutical laboratories, many exothermic reactions, crystallization processes, or low-temperature synthesis must be carried out under strict temperature control to avoid side reactions or product decomposition. Low temperature cooling circulation pumps provide reliable guarantees for this. In the field of biomedicine, it is used to maintain a stable operating environment for equipment such as cell culture, freeze-drying, PCR machines, etc. In materials science, experiments such as superconducting material testing and thermal stress analysis also rely on providing a uniform low-temperature field. In industrial scenarios such as semiconductor manufacturing, laser processing, and heat dissipation of high-power electronic devices, low-temperature circulation pumps bear the responsibility of efficient thermal management to prevent equipment performance degradation or damage due to overheating.
Compared to traditional ice bath or dry ice cooling methods, low-temperature cooling circulation pumps have significant advantages: firstly, the temperature is adjustable and stable, avoiding fluctuations caused by manual intervention; Secondly, there is no need to frequently add cooling media, saving manpower and consumables; Thirdly, the closed-loop design reduces solvent evaporation and environmental pollution; Fourthly, it has safety functions such as over temperature protection, flow alarm, and liquid level monitoring, greatly improving operational safety.
With technological advancements, modern low-temperature cooling circulation pumps are developing towards intelligence, energy efficiency, and modularity. The touch screen interface supports program temperature control and multi-stage slope heating/cooling; It can also be connected to the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) through RS485 or Wi Fi interface to achieve remote monitoring and data recording.
Of course, proper use and maintenance are equally crucial. Users need to choose the appropriate refrigerant according to the actual working conditions, regularly check the sealing of the pipeline, and prevent ice blockage or pump body idling. When the equipment is not in use for a long time, the liquid should be drained and the system should be cleaned to extend its lifespan.
