Headspace reagent bottle is an important container used for sample pretreatment and injection in laboratory analysis
Date: 2025-09-08Read: 16
Headspace reagent bottles (also known as headspace bottles) are mainly used for gas chromatography analysis, detecting volatile components in samples by separating them. They are widely used in industries such as environmental monitoring, food testing, and pharmaceuticals. Usually made of neutral borosilicate glass, this material has the characteristics of high temperature resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, which can avoid the interference of dissolved substances on analysis results and ensure the accuracy of experiments.
Headspace reagent bottle is a key container used for sample pretreatment and injection in laboratory analysis, especially suitable for scenarios such as gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) that require analysis of volatile or semi volatile substances. It ensures the accuracy and repeatability of analysis results by isolating the external air, reducing sample contamination and volatilization loss.
Application Scenario:
Environmental monitoring: Analyze volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in water and soil, such as benzene, toluene, xylene, etc., to assess the degree of environmental pollution.
Monitor volatile pollutants in the atmosphere, such as formaldehyde and ozone precursors, and study changes in air quality.
Food safety testing: Detecting volatile organic compounds in food packaging materials to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
Analyze flavor compounds (such as alcohol, esters, aldehydes) in food, evaluate food quality and shelf life.
Pharmaceutical industry: Determine residual solvents (such as ethanol, acetone, dichloromethane) in drugs and control impurity content during the production process. Study the volatile degradation products of drugs during storage and optimize packaging and storage conditions.
Petrochemical industry: Analyze the light hydrocarbon components (such as methane, ethane, propane) in petroleum products to guide the optimization of refining processes. Monitor volatile intermediates in the chemical production process to ensure reaction efficiency and product quality.
Instructions for use
Cleaning and pretreatment: Before use, ensure that the bottles, caps, and spacers are clean. Pre treatment can be carried out according to experimental requirements, and if necessary, baking and degassing treatment can be performed.
Sample addition: Accurately measure the sample to be tested and add it to the headspace bottle to avoid excess, leaving a headspace gas space.
Sealing: Tighten the bottle cap and gasket tightly to ensure good sealing.
Injection: Place the sealed headspace vial into the headspace sampler or automatic injection system for heating, equilibration, gas extraction, and analysis.
