Microcomputer controlled electronic universal testing machineIt is a device used for testing the mechanical properties of materials, which can perform various tests such as tension, compression, and bending. Its calibration and testing techniques aim to ensure accurate measurement of force values, displacement, and deformation, making the test results reliable and comparable. Calibration and testing must be carried out according to standardized procedures, covering equipment hardware, measurement systems, and control performance.1、 Calibration should be carried out in a stable environment of the equipment, with ambient temperature and humidity maintained within the specified range of the equipment to avoid vibration and strong electromagnetic interference. First, check the mechanical structure status, including the frame, fixtures, transmission mechanism, and limit device, to confirm that there is no looseness, deformation, or jamming. The surface of the fixture should be flat and in uniform contact with the specimen to prevent uneven clamping force from introducing additional stress. The driving and transmission components should run smoothly without abnormal noise or obstruction, otherwise it will affect the accuracy of displacement and loading rate.
2、 Force calibration is the core process, which requires the use of traceable standard force measuring instruments or standard weight groups. First, perform zero calibration on the force measurement system, reset the force value display to zero under no-load conditions, and confirm that the force value drift is within the allowable range under no-load conditions. Apply known standard force values step by step, record the displayed values of the equipment and the standard values, compare the differences between the two, and correct or adjust the gain coefficient according to the instructions in the equipment manual. For multi range devices, calibration should be performed separately within each range to ensure full range linearity and accuracy meet the requirements. During the calibration process, the force should be applied smoothly to avoid impact loads affecting the readings.
3、 The calibration of displacement and deformation measurement requires the use of standard length gauges or displacement sensor calibration devices. For displacement measurement, the crossbeam or actuator can be moved in an unloaded state to record the standard displacement and equipment display values at different positions, and to correct nonlinearity and return errors. For extensometers or strain measurement systems, they should be installed on standard specimens for calibration, applying known deformations and verifying displayed values, adjusting magnification or zero offset. Calibration should cover the entire measurement range of the equipment and pay attention to the consistency of the forward and backward strokes.

4、 Testing techniques include functional validation and repetitive evaluation. After completing the calibration, conduct simulation tests on typical samples to check the control stability of the loading, holding, and unloading processes, and confirm that the rate control accuracy is consistent with the set values. Conduct multiple repeated experiments, calculate the standard deviation of force values, displacement, and deformation measurement results, and determine the repeatability and stability of the equipment. Check the software's data collection and storage functions to ensure that the sampling frequency, timestamp, and curve records are complete and error free. It should be verified that the limit and emergency stop functions can interrupt the test in a timely manner under abnormal conditions to protect the safety of equipment and personnel.
5、 Attention should be paid to the impact of the environment on the results during testing. Temperature changes can cause zero drift and structural thermal expansion and contraction of force sensors, and critical calibration should be performed under constant temperature conditions. Power supply voltage fluctuations can affect servo control accuracy, and a regulated power supply or online voltage monitoring should be used. The cleanliness and lubrication status of the contact surface between the fixture and the specimen can also affect the uniformity of loading and require regular maintenance.
6、 After calibration and testing, a record must be formed, including the calibration date, information on the standard instruments used, correction parameters, results of the testing items, and the executing personnel. Records should be archived for future reference and re checked periodically, with the length of the cycle determined by frequency of use and equipment importance. In daily use, a zero point check should be conducted before each experiment, and any significant deviations should be promptly recalibrated.
By systematically inspecting the mechanical structure, using standard instruments for force displacement and deformation calibration, verifying control performance and repeatability, and combining environmental control with regular re calibration, effective maintenance can be achievedMicrocomputer controlled electronic universal testing machineThe measurement accuracy and operational reliability provide a stable foundation for testing the mechanical properties of materials.
