Accurate Explanation of Precautions for Gas Detector Use
Date: 2025-12-22Read: 2
  1. Preparation and inspection before useCarefully read the instruction manual, familiarize yourself with the instrument's performance and operating methods; Check the battery level and ensure that the battery is fully charged; Check the air inlet and filter to ensure unobstructed flow; Perform self inspection and calibration to ensure the accuracy of the detector settings.

  2. Avoid collisions and fallsDuring use, it is advisable to avoid collisions or drops of the gas detector as much as possible to prevent damage to the instrument or affect the accuracy of the detection data.

  3. Pay attention to the usage environmentAvoid exposing the gas detector to high temperatures, high humidity, strong magnetic fields, and other environments; Avoid gas shock sensors that exceed the measurement range, and expose the instrument to high concentrations of corrosive gases (special cases require pre-treatment).

  4. Proper wearing and placementFor portable gas detectors, they should be worn correctly near the mouth and nose, such as the front collar and brim of clothing, in order to detect the gas concentration around the operator in real time. It is strictly prohibited to place it in pockets or other difficult to view areas.

  5. Observe abnormal situationsIn the process of use, if there are abnormal situations such as continuous flashing of indicator lights, sudden absence of numerical display on the screen, stagnant or large differences in gas exceeding the standard area, the operation should be stopped immediately, evacuated to a fresh air area to observe the problem, and the fault should be eliminated in a timely manner.

  6. Regular calibration and testingGas detectors need to be calibrated and tested regularly to ensure their accuracy and reliability. Calibration should be performed using zero gas and standard concentration gas, and the standard curve obtained should be stored in the instrument.

  7. Replace the sensorSensors are the core components of gas detectors and have a certain service life, requiring regular replacement.

  8. Keep clean and dryAfter use, the surface of the gas detector should be cleaned of dust and placed in a dry, dust-free environment that meets storage requirements.

  9. Professional personnel operation and maintenanceThe installation, debugging, and setting of gas detectors should be carried out by professionals, and non professionals are prohibited from operating them.

The above precautions combine specific precautions for different types of gas detectors, including VOC gas detectors and combustible gas detectors, to ensure accuracy and safety during use. Please note that specific usage should refer to the instruction manual and professional advice of the corresponding instrument.
