With the increasingly strict environmental protection regulations, online monitoring of pollutants in the flue gas emitted by industrial enterprises has become an important means of environmental supervision and enterprise self inspection. Online flue gas monitoring device is an instrument equipment that can monitor the concentration and emission of pollutants in industrial flue gas in real time and continuously. Widely used in industries such as thermal power plants, steel plants, chemical plants, and waste incineration plants to ensure that enterprise emissions meet national or local environmental standards, while providing reliable data support for environmental management departments.

Online smoke monitoring deviceThe main components of:
1. Smoke sampling system
The sampling system is responsible for extracting representative flue gas samples from the flue. Sampling probes are generally made of high-temperature and corrosion-resistant materials to prevent damage in high-temperature and corrosive flue gas environments. Sampling pipelines are usually equipped with heating and insulation devices to prevent smoke condensation or particle deposition.
2. Sample gas pretreatment system
The main function of the sample gas pretreatment system is to remove particles, acidic gases, and moisture from the flue gas to ensure the long-term stable operation of the analytical instrument. Common processing devices include dust filters, heaters, dryers, dehumidifiers, desulfurizers, etc.
3. Analysis and detection system
The analysis and detection system is the core part of CEMS, responsible for measuring the concentration of pollutants in flue gas. The monitoring methods for different pollutants vary:
-Sulfur dioxide (SO ₂): commonly used UV absorption or fluorescence methods.
-Nitrogen oxides (NOx): Typically, chemiluminescence (CLD) method is used.
-Carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO ₂): Infrared absorption spectroscopy (NDIR) is the main method.
-Particulate matter (PM): using weight method, light scattering method or resistance method.
4. Data collection and processing system
This system converts the signals output by analytical instruments into readable data, and performs real-time processing, recording, storage, and display. Modern CEMS can be connected to the DCS or environmental monitoring platform of enterprises to achieve remote monitoring and management.
5. Auxiliary system
The auxiliary system includes a gas source system, a flow control system, a power supply system, and an alarm system to ensure reliable operation of the monitoring system in high temperature, high humidity, and high dust environments, and to issue an alarm in the event of abnormal emissions.
Operation process of online smoke monitoring instrument:
1. Preparation and Calibration
Online monitoring devices require gas calibration before startup. Calibration gases are typically target gases of standard concentration used to verify the accuracy and linear response of an analyzer. Calibration is divided into zero point calibration and span calibration to ensure accurate and reliable data.
2. Sampling and analysis
The flue gas enters the analytical instrument through the sampling system, and after pre-treatment, the concentration of pollutants is measured by the detection unit. The entire process achieves continuous and automated operation, with real-time data collection.
3. Data processing and reporting
The data collected by the analytical instrument is processed by the data processing system to generate pollutant concentration, emissions, and cumulative emissions data. Data can be exported to reports for environmental management, emission declaration, and environmental audits.
4. Maintenance and Quality Control
Regular maintenance is required, including sensor cleaning, filter replacement, inspection of heating system, calibration of analyzer, etc. In addition, quality control (QC) procedures are adopted to ensure long-term stability and reliability of monitoring data.
