The operation process of the Leeb hardness tester is as follows:
1. Startup and Settings
Battery installation: Install 4 1.5V AAA batteries according to the positive and negative labels on the battery box.
Power on: Press the "POWER/MENU" button to start the instrument.
Parameter settings:
Impact direction: Press the "DIR/SHIFT" key to select (such as vertical downward, horizontal, etc.).
Material code: Select the corresponding code based on the tested material (such as steel, cast iron, aluminum alloy, etc.).
Hardness standard: Select the target unit (such as HRC, HB, etc.).
2. Measurement operation
Positioning: Press the impact device vertically onto the surface of the specimen, ensuring no shaking or suspension.
Loading and releasing:
Press down on the impact device, and after 1 second, release the impact body by pressing the protruding button on the top of the instrument.
The instrument automatically measures the impact velocity and rebound velocity, and displays the hardness value.
Multi point measurement:
At least 3 points should be tested on the same area, with a spacing of ≥ 3mm, and the average value should be taken as the final result.
Record data and compare it with standard values to determine if it is qualified.
3. Data management
Storage: The measurement results are automatically saved and can store up to 50 sets of data.
output:
Connect to the PC via RS-232 interface or Bluetooth, and export data using the accompanying software.
An optional printer can be used to directly print reports.
Precautions for using the Leeb hardness tester:
1. Operation taboos
No empty striking: It is strictly prohibited to press the release button without touching the specimen, otherwise the support ring will loosen and cause measurement errors.
Avoid high hardness impact: Do not impact materials such as tungsten steel that are harder than the instrument to prevent damage to the impact body.
Temperature limit: The surface temperature of the specimen should be<120 ℃, and the optimal testing temperature is 4 ℃ -38 ℃.
2. Maintenance and upkeep
Cleaning: Regularly clean the impact device and sensor with a cleaning brush to avoid dust accumulation.
Calibration: Regularly calibrate using standard hardness blocks to ensure measurement accuracy.
Storage: When not in use for a long time, remove the battery and store it in a dry, dark environment.
3. Exception handling
Data abnormality: Check if the surface of the specimen meets the requirements, or recalibrate the instrument.
Unable to power on: Check battery level and installation direction, replace with a new battery for testing.
Interface failure: Ensure that the connection cable is intact, try restarting the instrument or replacing the interface.
