Safety specifications for steady-state solar simulator
Date: 2025-12-15Read: 1
Steady-state solar simulatorThere are risks of strong light, high temperature, ultraviolet radiation, and electrical safety during work. Standardized operation is the core to ensure personnel safety and stable equipment operation. This specification covers the safety requirements for the entire process including environment, operation, protection, and maintenance, and is compatible with mainstream light source models such as xenon lamps and LEDs.
1、 Environmental safety requirements
The placement environment should be dry and ventilated, with a temperature controlled at 20-30 ℃ and a relative humidity of ≤ 70%. It should be kept away from air conditioning vents, direct sunlight, and vibration sources.
Flammable, explosive, and easily catalyzed by ultraviolet radiation are prohibited from being piled up within 1 meter around the equipment, and clear "strong light danger" warning signs must be set up.
Ensure sufficient space in the work area, reserve heat dissipation channels, avoid equipment overheating caused by enclosed environments, and facilitate quick evacuation in emergency situations.
2、 Electrical safety regulations
The power supply must match the rated voltage of the equipment, with a voltage deviation of no more than ± 1%. Use power cables and grounding devices that meet specifications, and the grounding resistance must comply with electrical safety standards.
Before starting up, check that the power cord and plug are not damaged or exposed, and that the wiring is secure and not loose; Do not plug or unplug power supplies in damp environments to avoid the risk of electrical leakage.
If there is any odor, abnormal noise or tripping during the operation of the equipment, immediately cut off the main power supply and prohibit forced restart. Professional personnel should be contacted for maintenance.
3、 Personnel protection regulations
UV protective goggles (or laser protective goggles), heat-resistant gloves, and long sleeved clothing must be worn during operation to avoid direct exposure of the skin and eyes to strong light and ultraviolet rays.
It is strictly prohibited to directly look at the light source or observe the light source through reflection of optical components to prevent retinal damage; Do not turn on the device's light shield unless necessary. If you need to adjust the sample, pause the light source first.
If the skin accidentally comes into contact with a strong light exposure area, immediately move to a cool place and apply a cold compress; If there is discomfort in the eyes, it is necessary to seek medical examination in a timely manner.
4、 Safe operation process
Preheat the device for 10-30 minutes before starting, wait for the light source and cooling system to stabilize before testing, and avoid frequent switching of the device.
When placing samples, ensure that the sample stage is stable and the sample is kept at a safe distance from the light source (usually 20-30 centimeters) to avoid the sample blocking the light path or being damaged by high temperatures.
Do not frequently open the equipment box door during testing to prevent temperature and humidity fluctuations and strong light leakage; If you need to adjust parameters or take or place samples, pause the light source and wait for 3-5 minutes.
Set a reasonable irradiation time, which can enable a timer or automatic shutdown function to avoid overheating caused by prolonged continuous operation of the equipment.
5、 Maintenance and emergency safety
Before maintaining, cleaning or replacing the light source, the power must be cut off and the equipment must be allowed to cool to room temperature. Xenon lamps and other light sources should be replaced in a timely manner according to the instructions to avoid the risk of explosion caused by expired use.
When cleaning optical lenses and filters, gently wipe them with a dust-free cloth or specialized cleaning agent to avoid scratches; Regularly clean the heat dissipation ducts and filters to ensure good heat dissipation.
Familiarize yourself with the location of the emergency stop button. In case of sudden situations such as fire or light source rupture, immediately cut off the main power supply and use a dry powder fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire (do not use water to directly extinguish electrical equipment).
Equipment malfunctions must be repaired by professional personnel, and it is prohibited to disassemble high-voltage components or optical systems by oneself. Maintenance records must be archived for future reference.
6、 Personnel and Training Requirements
Operators must undergo professional training and be familiar with the principles and safety regulations of the equipment before they can operate independently. Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from using the equipment.
Each use requires recording of environmental conditions, parameter settings, and equipment operating status for easy traceability of abnormal situations.
