The Importance of Reagent Storage
Date: 2025-09-02Read: 4

Chemical reagents are hazardous materials that, if not stored and managed properly, can pose a danger to personnel and laboratories. The use of reagent temporary storage cabinets can effectively reduce the probability of hazardous events occurring in the laboratory and ensure the safety of laboratory personnel. In addition,Reagent temporary storage cabinetIt can also improve experimental efficiency, facilitate the classification, management, and search of reagents, and reduce the workload and time cost of laboratory management.

Classified by hazard nature:
Flammable liquid cabinet (yellow): for storing liquids with a flash point ≤ 60 ℃ (such as methanol, ethanol), a double-layer fire-resistant steel plate structure is required.
Combustible liquid cabinet (red): stores liquids with a flash point>60 ℃ (such as diesel and paint), with the same structure as the yellow cabinet.
Corrosive cabinet (white/blue):
The white PP cabinet stores strong acids and alkalis (such as sulfuric acid and sodium hydroxide);
The blue cabinet stores weakly corrosive reagents (such as acetic acid).
Toxic goods cabinet (gray): requires electronic password lock and supports dual person management.
Precautions for use:
The reagent storage cabinet should indicate the name, specifications, storage date, and other information of the reagent for easy management and retrieval.
Before use, a check should be conducted to ensure that there is no odor, leakage, or damage inside the cabinet.
Regularly clean and inspect the cabinet, promptly handle expired and damaged reagents, and ensure the quality and quantity of reagents.
Storage requirements:
Prohibited materials are not allowed to be mixed (such as strong acids and bases).
Liquid reagents are placed upright, while solid reagents are sealed and moisture-proof.
The total weight of a single cabinet is ≤ 50kg, and the volume of Class A flammable liquid is ≤ 20L.
