Mechanical impact testing machine is an important equipment used to evaluate the impact resistance of materials or products
Date: 2025-09-19Read: 2
Mechanical impact testing machine is a device that evaluates the impact resistance performance of materials or products by simulating dynamic loads (such as half sine waves, square waves, etc.).
The mechanical impact testing machine simulates instantaneous impact loads (such as free fall, pendulum swing, etc.), converts mechanical energy into kinetic energy, and applies it to the specimen to measure the absorbed energy or deformation degree, in order to evaluate the impact resistance performance of the material. Its core is based on the law of conservation of energy: the energy difference between the system before and after impact is the energy absorbed by the sample.
The mechanical impact testing machine mainly consists of the following parts:
Impact testing institutions: including impact hammers, impact tables, sample fixtures, etc., used to apply and withstand impact loads.
Control system: Set parameters such as impact load, speed, waveform, etc., and control the test process.
Data acquisition system: measures parameters such as impact force, impact velocity, acceleration, etc., and records experimental data.
Auxiliary systems: such as waveform generators (used to generate specific waveforms such as half sine waves), cooling/heating devices (used for high or low temperature tests), etc.
Mainly divided into:
Manual pendulum type: using a pendulum to freely fall and impact the specimen, suitable for testing simply supported beams/cantilever beams.
Drop hammer type: used for impact strength testing of large-sized specimens such as pipes and plates (such as plastic pipe drop hammer impact testing machine).
High acceleration impact table: supports high acceleration of 600g and pulse duration of 2-60ms, suitable for reliability verification of aerospace and electronic products.
Mechanical impact testing machines are widely used in the following scenarios:
Materials Science: Evaluate the impact resistance of materials such as metals, plastics, ceramics, etc., and provide data support for material research and development.
Engineering technology: Testing the impact resistance of structural components (such as fuselage, hull, frame) in the fields of aerospace, shipbuilding, automotive, etc.
Quality monitoring: Testing the impact resistance of electronic products, packaging materials, medical devices, and other products to ensure product quality.
