Recently, Shanghai Automation Instrument Co., Ltd. undertook the "High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactor Nuclear Power Plant Demonstration Project". High temperature gas cooled reactors have the advantages of high safety, small footprint, and easy control of accident radiation range compared to traditional reactor types. They belong to the fourth generation of nuclear power technology. This project of "High temperature gas cooled reactors" has laid the foundation for the further development of Shanghai Automation Instrument Co., Ltd. in the field of nuclear power.

The "High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactor Nuclear Power Plant Demonstration Project" undertaken by Shanghai Automation Instrument Co., Ltd. consists of a supply contract for the control panel and auxiliary equipment in the main control room area, as well as three supplementary contracts of the same type, and a procurement and supply contract for the control system/helium gasification and helium, thermocouple temperature transmitter, and full range simulator hard disk platform and instrument equipment for solid and liquid waste treatment systems. According to the national planning goals, by 2020, China's operating nuclear power installed capacity will reach 58 million kilowatts, with around 30 million kilowatts under construction.
