Chasing Light Classroom | Maintenance Guide for Battery Transient I-V Tester
Date: 2025-09-11Read: 1

The battery transient I-V tester is the key to accurately capturing the I-V characteristics of photovoltaic cells and controlling product quality. Proper maintenance of it is of great value: regular inspections and adjustments can identify hidden dangers, reduce downtime due to malfunctions, and avoid interrupting inspections; Slowing down wear and aging can extend lifespan and reduce maintenance costs; It can also maintain efficient operation of the equipment, maintain detection accuracy, and work together with the solar simulator to improve overall detection efficiency.
Do you want this' partner 'to consistently exert strength? Below is a summary of this battery for everyonetransientTargeted maintenance process for I-V tester, helping you easily maintain equipment!
Daily maintenance refers to the routine inspection and cleaning work carried out on equipment every day, including checking whether the operation status of the equipment is normal, cleaning the dust, dirt, etc. on the surface and internal components of the equipment.
The purpose of daily maintenance is to promptly detect and solve minor equipment problems, prevent larger equipment failures, and ensure the normal operation and service life of the equipment.
-
Check if there are any foreign objects blocking the battery cells and if the surface of the battery cells is dirty. You can use a towel or dust-free cloth dipped in alcohol to wipe them.

-
Check whether the wires of the small battery cells are worn or aged. If any are found, please maintain or replace them in a timely manner.
-
Check if the circulating water of the small label water-cooled temperature control device is in a normal flow state.
Method 1: Pull out one of the water pipes (note: pinch the pipe to be pulled out when pulling out, be careful that water may flow out). If there is water flowing out normally, it is in a normal state
Method 2: Check if the reflux port of the water-cooled temperature control module is functioning properly. If it is functioning properly, it is in a normal state.
If normal, the inlet and outlet of the small label or the water pipe can be unblocked and replaced with new purified water until the circulating water flows smoothly.
Infrared temperature probe
-
Check and confirm whether the infrared temperature probe is firmly fixed, and turn on the infrared positioning laser switch. Confirm that the positioning laser point is irradiated to the appropriate position on the battery cell (to avoid hitting the probe or probe row, causing deviation in temperature testing and abnormal I-V testing efficiency), and try to place the laser point in the middle of the two probe rows. After confirming the position, turn off the infrared laser;

Check if the infrared temperature probe is obstructed or dirty, and use a towel or dust-free cloth dipped in alcohol to wipe it.
Check if the filter is open; (After activation, the arrow indicates that the pointer will be in a non-zero state.)
Check if the air pressure of the filter is normal, ranging from 0.3Mpa to 0.4Mpa.
Check if the filter is leaking and if the air pipe is damaged.
Connecting wires between various equipment components
-
Check if the load USB cable is properly connected to the computer USB port.
-
Check if the RS232 communication cable of the power serial port is well connected to the computer.
-
Check if the peripheral connections of the device are loose, including feedback battery connection terminals, test lines, temperature acquisition lines, standard batteries, etc.
The above are the key points for daily maintenance of battery transient I-V testers - by doing these basic maintenance well, small hidden dangers can be avoided in a timely manner, and the combination of it and the solar simulator can always maintain a stable state, providing protection for daily photovoltaic testing.
However, as we all know, in addition to daily basic maintenance, regular deep maintenance is equally important. In the next issue, we will focus on "monthly maintenance" and break down in detail the inspection items and component maintenance techniques that require special attention, helping everyone to do equipment maintenance more comprehensively and effectively. Do you want the device to be precise and efficient in the long run? Remember to keep following, don't miss out on the next issue!
