Ultrapure Water SystemThe workflow of purification technology through the combination of physics and chemistry is as follows:
1. Preprocessing system
Quartz sand filtration: removes large suspended particles such as sediment and rust from water.
Activated carbon adsorption: adsorbs residual chlorine, organic matter, and unusual odors to protect subsequent reverse osmosis membranes.
Softening device: For high hardness water quality, calcium and magnesium ions are replaced by ion exchange resin to prevent scaling of the reverse osmosis membrane.
Precision filtration: using 5 μ m or 1 μ m filter cartridges to intercept small particles and ensure that the inlet turbidity is ≤ 1NTU.
2. Reverse osmosis (RO) technology
Semi permeable membrane separation: using a reverse osmosis membrane with a pore size of 0.0001 μ m to intercept over 99% of ions, bacteria, and large organic molecules in water.
Secondary reverse osmosis: Some models adopt a dual stage RO design to further reduce the TDS value (total dissolved solids) of the effluent, ensuring that the conductivity of the produced water is ≤ 5 μ S/cm.
3. Ultra purification treatment
Ion exchange resin: In a mixed bed, cation resin and anion resin work together to deeply remove residual ions in water, increasing the resistivity to 10-18M Ω· cm.
Electrodeionization (EDI): By driving ion exchange resin regeneration with an electric field, continuous water production can be achieved without the need for chemical regenerants, making it suitable for large-scale industrial applications.
4. Terminal processing
UV oxidation: 185nm ultraviolet light decomposes organic matter in water, 254nm ultraviolet light kills microorganisms, and reduces TOC (total organic carbon) to ≤ 5ppb.
Ultrafiltration membrane (UF): a membrane filter with a pore size of 0.01 μ m, which intercepts bacteria, endotoxins, and particles to ensure that the effluent meets sterile requirements.
Terminal microfiltration: 0.22 μ m or 0.45 μ m filter cartridges serve as the final barrier to prevent particulate matter from entering the water point.
