Three minutes per day: Daily maintenance checklist and execution standards for constant temperature oscillation shaker
Date: 2025-10-20Read: 18
Constant temperature oscillation shakerIt is one of the high-frequency equipment used in the laboratory, and its stability directly affects the repeatability of experiments. By conducting standardized maintenance checks for three minutes every day, potential issues can be identified in advance, equipment lifespan can be extended, and data reliability can be ensured. The following is the execution checklist and standards:
Inspection item 1: Appearance and cleanliness
Standard: There is no dust or liquid residue on the surface of the equipment (such as leakage of culture medium), and there are no sample fragments or stains on the oscillation tray and fixture.
Operation: Wipe the body shell with a soft cloth (avoid using corrosive solvents such as alcohol), and check if there is any debris accumulation under the tray (such as detached test tube plugs); If liquid leakage is found, immediately use a dry cloth to absorb it and check if the water bath (if any) is leaking water.
Inspection item 2: Water level and quality(
Standard: The water level of the water bath shaker should be below the heating tube (5-10cm away from the edge of the tank), and the water quality should be clear without turbidity (if it is tap water, it needs to be replaced regularly, and it is recommended to change the water once a week).
Operation: Open the water bath cover (or observation window) and check the water level line; If the water level is below the standard, add distilled water or deionized water; If the water quality turns yellow or has sediment (scale), it is necessary to change the water and clean the inner wall of the tank (gently brush with a soft bristled brush).
Inspection item 3: Vibration function
Standard: Stable oscillation frequency (deviation between set value and actual value ≤ ± 5rpm), no abnormal noise (such as friction sound, motor buzzing), and smooth tray running trajectory (no jamming).
Operation: Start the shaking table with no load (set the low speed to 100rpm, run for 30 seconds), use a mobile stopwatch to time and observe if the speed display is stable; Listen closely to the equipment for sound (normally a uniform "buzzing" sound, if there is a sharp friction sound, it may be due to a lack of oil in the tray bearings or loose fixtures); Check if the tray is concentric with the motor shaft (if there is obvious shaking, contact the engineer for adjustment).

Inspection item 4: Temperature control
Standard: When unloaded, the deviation between the set temperature and the actual temperature should be ≤ ± 0.5 ℃ (if set at 37 ℃, the display should be between 36.5-37.5 ℃), and the heating tube should not overheat or turn red.
Operation: Set a common temperature (such as 30 ℃), wait for 10 minutes (until the temperature stabilizes), and observe the actual temperature value on the digital display screen; Lightly touch the area around the heating tube with the back of your hand (do not directly touch high-temperature parts) to confirm that there is no abnormal high temperature (normal should be warm, if it is hot, it may be a temperature controller malfunction).
Inspection Item 5: Safety and Accessories
Standard: The power cord is not damaged, the plug is not loose, and the equipment is grounded normally (with clear grounding markings); The fixture is not deformed, the spring is not broken, and the protective door (if any) is tightly closed.
Operation: Check the outer skin of the power cord (replace if there are cracks), and confirm that the plug is firmly inserted into the socket; Manually test the opening and closing of the fixture (such as whether the test tube clamp can firmly fix containers of different specifications), observe the sealing strip of the protective door (if there is aging, it needs to be replaced to prevent the sample from splashing out during operation).
Three minute daily maintenance may seem simple, but it is a guaranteeConstant temperature oscillation shakerThe key to long-term stable operation. Through standardized checklists and execution standards, users can quickly identify problems (such as insufficient water level, abnormal noise) and handle them in a timely manner, avoiding small faults from escalating into major damage and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of each experimental data.
