Usage and method of dual function water bath constant temperature oscillator
Date: 2025-11-07Read: 24
The dual function water bath constant temperature oscillator is a laboratory equipment that combines a constant temperature water bath with oscillation function. It is mainly suitable for the oscillation cultivation of liquid and solid compounds such as biology, biochemistry, cells, and bacterial strains, and is widely used in scientific research, medical care, environmental protection, food engineering, and other fields. The following provides a detailed introduction from the perspectives of usage and methods:
1、 Main purpose
Microbial culture
Used for oscillating cultivation of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and molds, providing a constant temperature and oscillating environment to promote microbial growth.
Biochemical experiment
Suitable for biochemical experiments such as enzyme reactions, protein denaturation, DNA extraction, etc., it accelerates the reaction process through oscillation and improves experimental efficiency.
cell culture
During the cell culture process, providing a constant temperature and moderate oscillation to simulate the in vivo environment promotes cell proliferation.
environmental monitoring
Used for water analysis (such as BOD determination), to evaluate the degree of water pollution by shaking and cultivating microorganisms in water samples.
Food Engineering
Provide stable temperature and oscillation conditions during food fermentation, strain cultivation, and other processes to ensure fermentation efficiency.
Plant cultivation and breeding
Used for plant tissue culture, seed germination experiments, etc., to promote plant growth through oscillation.
2、 Usage method
1. Preparation before use
Placement environment
Place the device on a stable and well ventilated countertop, avoiding direct sunlight and humid environments.
Ensure that the workbench is not excessively smooth (such as tiles) to prevent equipment from sliding.
power check
Check if the power grounding is good and ensure that the electrical rated parameters of the socket are not less than the rated parameters of the equipment (usually 220V 50Hz).
add water
Add deionized water or distilled water to the water tank until the water level reaches two-thirds of the height of the tank (covering the heating tube), and dry burning is strictly prohibited.
Container fixation
Fix the container to be shaken (such as a flask or test tube) on the spring test bottle rack to ensure balance and no risk of liquid overflow.
2. Operation steps
set temperature
Connect the power and turn on the power switch.
Set the target temperature (such as 37 ℃) through the "thermometer" indicator key on the control panel, and adjust the value using the up and down keys.
Some devices require pressing the 'confirm' button to save the settings.
Mode Selection
Select oscillation mode based on sample viscosity:
Cyclotron oscillation: suitable for low viscosity samples, where the liquid is in a vortex state inside the container.
Reciprocal oscillation: suitable for high viscosity samples, using inertia to oscillate the sample.
Dual function oscillation: combining cyclotron and reciprocating oscillation, suitable for various samples.
Speed regulation
Gradually adjust from low speed to the target speed (such as 200 revolutions per minute) to avoid sudden acceleration.
timer function
To set a timer, use the 'timer key' to set the time (usually in minutes).
If you need to work for a long time, set the timer to the "normally open" position.
Start the device
Press the "RUN" button to start the device and observe whether the temperature and speed are stable.
3. Precautions during operation
No movement allowed
It is prohibited to move devices or open the water tank cover during operation to prevent danger.
Specially assigned person to supervise
During high-speed operation, a dedicated person is required to supervise and prevent equipment displacement or liquid spillage.
4. Maintenance after use
Turn off the device
Stop oscillating first, then turn off the heating power, and finally cut off the main power.
cleaning equipment
Drain the water tank and dry the interior, and clean and rust proof it when not in use for a long time.
regular inspection
Regularly inspect power cords, heating tubes, and other components to ensure proper operation of the equipment.
3、 Precautions
safe operation
Prohibit heating without water, unattended operation at high speeds, or children approaching the equipment.
Immediately cut off power for maintenance in case of abnormal noise or temperature loss.
maintenance
Regularly clean up residues and keep equipment clean.
Cut off the power before replacing the fuse.
