The correct usage method of waterproof membrane thickness gauge
Date: 2025-08-21Read: 4

Waterproof membrane thickness gaugeInstructions for Use

1.Installation and preparation

•Place the instrument on a stable and vibration free surface, ensuring that the bottom of the bracket is clean.

•Check if the pointer of the dial gauge returns to zero. If it deviates from the zero position, it can be fine tuned through the dial gauge adjustment ring.

2.Measurement steps

•Place the tested waterproof membrane sample flat under the presser foot, ensuring that the surface of the sample is clean and wrinkle free.

•Slowly press down on the dial gauge probe to ensure sufficient contact between the pressure foot and the sample, ensuring stable measurement force.

•Read the scale value pointed by the pointer, which is the thickness of the material (unit: mm).

•If multiple point detection is required, repeat the above steps and record each measurement value, taking the average as the final result.

3.Data recording and analysis

•It is recommended to test at least 3 different locations for each sample to reduce the impact of local thickness differences on the results.

•Compare the measurement data with the standard requirements to determine whether the product meets the technical specifications.

Precautions

•The instrument should be placed in a dry and clean environment to avoid moisture and strong impact.

•The dial gauge is a precision mechanical component, and it is strictly prohibited to disassemble or apply excessive impact force by oneself.

•When measuring, the sample should be handled gently to avoid artificially compressing it and resulting in low measurement results.

•When not in use for a long time, the instrument should be wiped clean, coated with anti rust oil, and stored in a dust-proof box.

•If the accuracy of the dial gauge decreases or the reading is unstable, it should be sent to a professional measuring unit for calibration.
