Recently, the "Science is also an Idol" short video collection activity for the spirit of scientists hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology has kicked off, mobilizing science and technology workers, especially young science and technology workers, to actively participate. The event aims to vividly present the real image of technology workers who are flesh and blood, emotionally delicate, passionate about life, and versatile, so as to make science "chao" and create a new idol of the times. This gave me some inspiration: can the scientific instrument industry create "Instrument 101" and have its own idol?
Strength and idols are not opposed. Instrument companies need to have both
When hearing the word 'idol', many people associate it with the glamorous' little fresh meat 'in the entertainment industry and the fan base behind them, as if they can be called' idols' as long as they are pursued and admired by many people. In modern society, the meanings of idols and power are increasingly opposed, and some people with power do not like to be called "idol fans". In fact, the true meaning of an idol is someone who has a particular skill and is highly sought after by others, with a focus on having that skill, not just on appearance or character. What the scientific instrument industry needs are idols with certain strength and positive energy, whether they are enterprises or individuals.
As a key industry in the manufacturing industry, the scientific instrument industry has always been pragmatic and low-key, just like many talented actors who silently polish their acting skills and manage their performance careers. When selecting technical talents, they will focus on practical abilities rather than vague halos. When promoting their own products, many manufacturers simply throw away a bunch of data and rarely use fancy vocabulary to embellish them. Because in fierce competition, there is nothing more convincing than presenting good products and technologies, and users only want to see tangible products. Here, the 'power faction' is more popular than the 'idol faction'. However, as competition becomes increasingly fierce, having strength without knowing how to speak up can easily lead to losing a competitive advantage. In the future, scientific instrument companies should not only excel as "strong players", but also learn to become "idol players".
Standing at the forefront of the storm, striving to become a positive energy 'idol faction'
What is the reason why most manufacturers rarely speak up, or even dare not speak up? Ultimately, it still depends on the user. Perhaps it is precisely because domestic instruments have been in a slump for too long that users view domestic products like they view the Chinese national football team, with a tone of resentment towards iron and steel. When some companies make clear statements pointing out that domestic instruments have suffered unfair treatment, more people do not stand up to support them, but condemn their lack of ambition. They hope that manufacturers will bury their heads in making good products, rather than raising their heads to argue with others. Perhaps it is because they have previously used domestically produced instruments that users have such thoughts. However, they overlooked one thing - there is now a group of instrument manufacturers who can stand up and speak. Because the instrument products they have developed can already match or even surpass imported products in terms of performance. If we blindly criticize, it will actually undermine the enthusiasm for innovation in domestic instruments.
Speaking of which, the editor cannot help but think of a unique and independent enterprise. They often publish articles with novel titles and strong readability, which do not look like the traditional instrument companies mentioned earlier. On the one hand, as an innovative high-tech enterprise, their products have passed the validation and comprehensive evaluation of domestic instruments, and have received numerous praises when exported overseas. In terms of strength, this enterprise is undoubtedly a 'powerhouse'. On the other hand, they often question the unfair treatment suffered by domestic instruments, and even openly expose industry insiders, even at the cost of offending people from all walks of life. Although this company may not yet be considered a particularly positive "idol faction", it has at least learned to speak out, endorse its products, and argue for domestic instruments. After all, in an industry, someone must step forward and stand at the forefront of the storm.
The current scientific instrument industry requires both fierce competition and a hundred schools of thought to contend. I hope that in the future, more domestic instrument companies will continue to explore and innovate, develop and consolidate their own strength, and bring more cost-effective domestic instruments to users. Only with convincing strength can one have the confidence to become a positive energy "idol faction" and the direction of the scientific instrument industry. At the same time, do not hesitate to showcase your own strength, let users see the upward side of domestic instruments, and let peers see the hope of the rise of domestic instruments.
