Sugar analysis columnIt is a special chromatographic column for separating and quantifying monosaccharides, oligosaccharides, glycols and glycoconjugates. The mainstream separation modes are ligand exchange (LEC), HILIC/Amide, amino (NH ₂) and gel exclusion (SEC). It is often used in combination with differential refraction (RID), evaporative light scattering (ELSD), pulse amperometry (PAD) or mass spectrometry (MS) detection, and is widely used in food, medicine, biology and industrial quality inspection.
Sugar analysis columnThe separation principle is mainly based on ligand exchange reactions. The hydroxyl groups on sugar molecules can be deprotonated to carry negative charges, which interact with the positive charges of metal ions (such as calcium, lead, etc.) on the resin surface to retain the sugar on the stationary phase. By adjusting the mobile phase conditions (such as pH value, ionic strength, etc.), adsorption and desorption equilibrium between different sugar molecules can be achieved, thus achieving the purpose of separation. In addition, some sugar analysis columns also combine multiple separation modes such as size exclusion and distribution adsorption, further improving the separation efficiency.
Application Scenario:
1. Food: High fructose corn syrup, honey, fruit juice, and dairy products with quantified sugar and alcohol content.
2. Medicine: Quality control of lactose, sucrose, acarbose, etc. in pharmacopoeia, analysis of glycopeptides and glycotypes.
3. Biology: Glycoprotein glycosylation, free N-sugar/O-sugar separation and identification, adapted to LC-MS/MS.
4. Industry: Monitoring of sugar profiles in starch hydrolysate and fermentation broth, evaluation of polysaccharide molecular weight distribution.
