When using a metal element analyzer, attention should be paid to safety
Date: 2025-07-02Read: 3
Metal element analyzer is an important tool for detecting the content of various elements in metal materials, playing a key role in multiple fields:
1. Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (AES): The sample is first heated to a high temperature to excite its atoms. Subsequently, the sample emits light of a specific wavelength, which is collected and analyzed by an optical system to determine the presence and concentration of the element.
2. Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS): Convert metal elements in a sample into a gaseous state and measure their absorption level by passing light of a specific wavelength through the sample.
3. X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF): Determine the content of elements in a sample by utilizing the characteristic of emitting X-rays of specific energy when exposed to X-rays.
4. Chemical analysis method: Based on the chemical properties of various elements and their compounds, qualitative or quantitative analysis of substances is carried out using chemical reactions related to them. Quantitative chemical analysis can be divided into gravimetric analysis, titration analysis, and gas volumetric analysis according to the final determination method.
Precautions for using metal element analyzer:
1. Environmental requirements:
-Temperature and humidity: It should be used in a suitable temperature and humidity environment, generally requiring temperature control between 15-30 ℃ and humidity control between 40-70. Excessive temperature or humidity may affect the performance of the instrument and the accuracy of measurement results.
-Electromagnetic interference: To avoid electromagnetic interference on the instrument, it should be placed away from strong electromagnetic fields, such as transformers, motors, and other equipment. At the same time, the power cord of the instrument should have good grounding measures to prevent electromagnetic interference from affecting the instrument.
-Cleaning and ventilation: The laboratory should be kept clean and well ventilated to avoid contamination and damage to the instruments by dust, corrosive gases, etc. Do not place flammable, explosive, corrosive or other hazardous materials around the instrument during use.

2. Sample processing:
-Representativeness: When sampling, it is important to ensure that the sample taken is representative and can truly reflect the overall composition of the metal being tested. For uneven samples, multiple sampling points should be taken and mixed evenly to reduce sampling errors.
-Purity and stability: The reagents used to prepare standard solutions should have high purity to ensure accurate and reliable concentration of the standard solution. At the same time, standard solutions should be prepared and used immediately to avoid concentration changes caused by prolonged storage.
-Pollution prevention: During the sample processing, attention should be paid to preventing the sample from being contaminated. The instruments used should be clean and free of rust, and instruments containing the elements to be tested should be avoided from contacting the sample. For samples that are prone to volatilization or oxidation, they should be processed and stored under sealed conditions.
3. Instrument operation:
-Strictly follow the operating procedures: When using, it is necessary to strictly follow the operating procedures of the instrument and not arbitrarily change the parameters and settings of the instrument. During the operation, pay attention to gentle movements to avoid collisions and damage to the instrument.
-Regular calibration and maintenance: Regularly calibrate and maintain the instrument to ensure its performance and accuracy of measurement results. The calibration cycle should be determined based on the frequency of use and accuracy requirements of the instrument, and it is generally recommended to perform calibration once a week or month. At the same time, regular maintenance should be carried out according to the maintenance manual of the instrument, such as cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of parts.
-Pay attention to safety: When using a metal element analyzer, be careful to avoid accidents such as electric shock, fire, and explosion. Especially when using hazardous conditions such as high pressure, high temperature, flammable and explosive gases, it is necessary to strictly follow safety operating procedures and take corresponding safety protection measures.
4. Data processing:
-Data review: The measured data should be carefully reviewed to check whether it is reasonable and meets expectations. For abnormal data, it is necessary to analyze the cause, identify the problem, and re measure or process it.
-Result correction: When calculating the content of metal elements in the sample, possible interference factors should be considered and the measurement results should be corrected. For example, factors such as background interference and matrix effects may affect the accuracy of measurement results, and corresponding correction methods need to be adopted for correction.
-Data saving: Measurement data should be saved in a timely manner for subsequent queries and analysis. The way of data preservation can be through spreadsheets, databases, or paper records, ensuring the integrity and traceability of the data.
