There are several operational details of the multi tube vortex mixer
Date: 2025-10-21Read: 1
The correct operation of a multi tube vortex mixer involves multiple steps, from careful preparation before use to precise control during operation, and then to proper handling and daily maintenance after use. Each step is related to the success of the experiment and the safety of personnel. Only by strictly following the operating procedures can the advantages of this instrument be fully utilized to provide reliable support for scientific research work.
The following is an introduction to the operation details of the multi tube vortex mixer:
1、 Preparation before use
Equipment inspection: Confirm that the power cord is not damaged and that the plug matches the socket; Check if the appearance of the instrument is intact, and tighten any loose parts in a timely manner. Before turning on the power, ensure that all function keys on the control panel are functioning properly and the display screen is clear. Some instruments need to be preheated, and the preheating procedure should be completed according to the instructions to stabilize the internal temperature and avoid affecting the subsequent mixing effect due to temperature fluctuations.
Consumables adaptation: Select appropriate centrifuge tubes or containers according to experimental needs, commonly including microcentrifuge tubes, PCR tubes, etc. Pay attention to the size and material of the pipe to match the instrument, in order to prevent the pipe from breaking or falling off during the mixing process. At the same time, prepare sufficient sample solution and accurately measure it into the tube, generally not exceeding a certain proportion of the tube volume to prevent overflow.
Position adjustment: Place the tubes containing the samples symmetrically on the rubber mounting of the instrument, ensuring that each tube can be securely embedded in the fixing hole and the overall layout is balanced. If the number of pipes is small, balance can be maintained by adding blank control pipes or other weights, which is crucial for ensuring the mixing effect.
2、 Operation process
Parameter setting: Based on the experimental purpose and sample characteristics, set the appropriate speed and time through the control panel. Excessive rotation speed may cause the sample to splash or generate too many bubbles, while insufficient rotation speed may result in incomplete mixing; The length of time also depends on the specific reaction, and preliminary experiments can be conducted to explore the optimal conditions. Some instruments also support programming functions, which can store multiple commonly used programs for easy access next time.
Start and Run: After pressing the start button, the instrument starts working, and attention should be paid to observing the status of the sample at this time. If any abnormal vibration, excessive noise, or sample leakage is found, the stop button should be immediately pressed to investigate the cause. During operation, do not open the lid casually to avoid danger.
Termination and retrieval: When the set time is reached, the instrument will automatically stop running. Wait for a moment, let the sample come to a natural stop, then carefully open the lid and take out the sample. When removing, be careful to avoid touching other samples that are still running to prevent cross contamination.
3、 Precautions
Safety protection: Before use, be sure to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves and goggles to prevent injury caused by sample splashing. Especially when handling samples with corrosiveness, toxicity, or biological hazards, it is necessary to strengthen protective measures.
Overloading is prohibited: Place samples strictly according to the maximum load capacity specified by the instrument, and do not exceed the limit, otherwise it may cause motor overload damage and even lead to safety accidents.
Regular maintenance: After each use, residual samples and dust inside the instrument should be promptly cleaned to maintain the elasticity and cleanliness of the rubber fixing seat. Regularly check the working condition of components such as motors and belts, and replace them promptly if they are worn. When not in use for a long time, unplug the power cord and store the instrument in a dry and ventilated place.
