The use of organoid technology can construct disease models in a shorter period of time, which helps to develop effective diagnosis and treatment plans within the patient's valuable time window. At the same time, it can accurately predict the patient's response to anti-cancer drugs and significantly reduce the patient's risk of drug resistance and the probability of tumor recurrence. Therefore, organoid technology has a very broad application prospect in personalized drug sensitivity screening of anti-cancer drugs and precision medicine for cancer. The complexity requirements of new drug development models, the personalized needs of treatment plans, and the international trend towards de animalization work together to further promote the rapid development of related technologies represented by organoids and organoid chips. Organoid technology, as the key to bridging the last mile of precision treatment, has enormous medical value.

Although significant progress has been made in the research of organoids, the field still faces many challenges. On the one hand, although the domestic organoid industry is developing rapidly and scientific research achievements are booming, a centralized industrial cluster has not yet been formed, and the formulation of relevant standards and specifications is still in the early stages, and a unified industry standard has not yet been formed; On the other hand, traditional organoid models still lack the tumor microenvironment within the human body. They lack necessary components in human tissues, such as the blood supply system and immune system. Therefore, how to more accurately reflect clinical heterogeneity and the impact of tumor microenvironment on drugs is also one of the key issues that organoid technology urgently needs to address.

In order to face the challenges faced by the development of the organoid industry, further promote the application and popularization of organoid technology, and build a bridge for communication between industry, academia, and medicine, the "Symposium on the Frontier Application of Organoid Technology in Precision Medicine" and the conference extension "Training on the Principles and Operation Techniques of Organoid Chips" hosted by Beijing Saitek Biotechnology Co., Ltd. were held in Beijing on November 21-22, 2023, and came to a successful conclusion!
