Sharing the standardized operation process of multi particle size dust analyzer
Date: 2025-09-15Read: 2

In environmental monitoring, occupational health, clean room management, and industrial emission control, multi particle size dust meters have become a core tool for assessing air quality and respiratory health risks due to their accurate ability to simultaneously measure PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10, and finer particulate matter. Its high sensitivity and real-time response characteristics require users to master scientific and standardized operating procedures to ensure the authenticity and reliability of multi particle dust analyzer data.

Step 1: Power on preheating and self check calibration
Before use, place the instrument in clean air, turn on the power, and preheat for 3-5 minutes. Most models have automatic zero calibration function, which can complete baseline calibration in a dust-free environment. If manual calibration is supported, standard filter membranes or zero gas generators should be used for verification. Check the battery level to ensure sufficient battery life.
Step 2: Parameter Setting and Mode Selection
Enter the settings interface through the touch screen or buttons, and configure according to the detection requirements:
Measurement of particle size channel: choose PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10 or full spectrum analysis;
Sampling time: set instantaneous (1 minute), short-term (15 minutes), or continuous monitoring mode;
Unit switching: mg/m3, μ g/m3, or number of particles per liter (#/cm3);
Alarm threshold: Set the over limit reminder according to national standards (such as GB 3095-2012).
Step 3: Correct Sampling and Probe Positioning
Hand hold or bracket the instrument, ensuring that the air inlet is facing the direction of the measured airflow and avoiding obstruction. The sampling height should be close to the human respiratory zone (1.2-1.8 meters). When conducting indoor inspections, avoid air flow disturbance areas such as air conditioning vents and gaps between doors and windows. Keep walking at a constant speed during mobile monitoring to avoid severe shaking that may affect sensor response.
Step 4: Real time monitoring and data recording
Observe the real-time curve and numerical changes on the screen, and pay attention to whether the sudden peak is caused by dust, combustion, or equipment start-up. During continuous monitoring, enable the automatic data storage function to record timestamps and GPS locations (if available). Immediately take photos for evidence and mark the type of event if exceeding the standard is found.
Step 5: Shutdown maintenance and result export
After the measurement is completed, move the multi particle size dust analyzer to a clean environment and run for 1-2 minutes to remove residual dust in the pipeline. Turn off the power and clean the dust screen of the air intake (using a soft bristled brush or compressed air). Export data to the computer via USB, Bluetooth, or SD card, and generate a report using the accompanying software, including statistical charts, large values, average values, and exceedance periods.
