The knowledge of high-pressure sterilization pots is worth learning
Date: 2025-10-21Read: 3
The core principle of a high-pressure sterilization pot is to use saturated steam under high pressure to achieve efficient sterilization. Usually, by injecting steam into a closed container and increasing pressure, the boiling point of water is raised to a level higher than that at room temperature. For example, when the steam pressure reaches 0.1 MPa, the temperature inside the pot can rise to about 121 ℃. This temperature is much higher than the temperature that can be achieved by ordinary boiling, enough to destroy the life structure of microorganisms.
Penetration and inactivation effect: Under high temperature and high pressure conditions, water vapor molecules have strong penetration power and can penetrate into the internal gaps and tiny pores of sterilized items. These high-temperature vapors quickly act on the protein and enzyme systems on the microbial cell walls, causing them to denature and solidify; Simultaneously causing the dissolution and disappearance of lipid substances on the cell membrane, thereby killing various stubborn pathogens including bacterial spores.
Maintaining a stable state to ensure effectiveness: The entire sterilization process needs to be carried out in a strictly sealed environment to ensure a sustained and stable high temperature and high pressure state. Generally, maintaining this state for 15 to 30 minutes can complete effective sterilization. Afterwards, the device will automatically or manually release the internal pressure, and only open the lid to remove sterilized items after the pressure returns to normal and the temperature drops to a safe range.
Precautions for using high-pressure sterilization pot:
1. Safety operation standards
-Exhaust cold air: Before sterilization, it is necessary to eliminate the cold air inside the pot, otherwise it will cause the actual temperature to be lower than the displayed value, resulting in the phenomenon of "false sterilization". It can be achieved through a slow exhaust valve.
-Overloading is strictly prohibited: avoid exceeding the rated capacity of the equipment to prevent obstruction of steam penetration and local sterilization failure. Large items should be placed vertically to facilitate steam penetration.
-Pressure release sequence: After sterilization, cut off the heat source first, wait for natural cooling to below the safe threshold, and then slowly open the lid. Do not forcefully release pressure to prevent liquid splashing or container bursting.
2. Key points of daily maintenance
-Regularly calibrate instruments: calibrate pressure gauges and temperature sensors at least once a year to ensure accurate readings;
-Check the sealing components: Before each use, confirm that the rubber ring is not aging or cracking, and replace damaged parts in a timely manner;
-Clean drain valve: prevent impurities from blocking and affecting normal drainage function.
3. Handling of special items
-The medium containing liquid should adopt a slow exhaust mode to reduce the loss of nutrients caused by severe boiling; Sharp instruments need to be wrapped in gauze to protect the sealing surface; Flammable and explosive substances are prohibited from being put into the pot.
