Explosion proof laser rangefinders are mainly used to measure distance and height in explosive environments. It uses laser to accurately measure the distance of the target, by emitting a very thin laser beam towards the target, receiving the reflected laser beam from the target by a photoelectric element, and measuring the time from emission to reception of the laser beam by a timer, thus calculating the distance from the observer to the target. Explosion proof laser rangefinders have the characteristics of light weight, small size, simple operation, fast speed, and accuracy, with an error of only one-fifth to one hundredth of other optical rangefinders.
When the explosion-proof laser rangefinder is in operation, it will emit a very thin laser beam towards the target, and the laser beam reflected by the target will be received by the photoelectric element. The timer measures the time it takes for the laser beam to be emitted and received, and calculates the distance from the observer to the target based on this. The principle of distance measurement can be basically attributed to measuring the time required for light to travel back and forth to the target, and then calculating the distance D through the speed of light (c=299792458m/s) and the atmospheric refractive index n. Due to the difficulty of directly measuring time, it is usually used to determine the phase of continuous waves, also known as phase measuring distance meters. It should be noted that phase measurement does not measure the phase of infrared or laser, but rather the phase of the signal modulated on the infrared or laser.
