Operation guide for desktop energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence multi-element sulfur analyzer
Date: 2025-11-04Read: 0

Desktop energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence multi-element sulfur analyzer is an analytical instrument based on X-ray fluorescence (XRF) technology, mainly used to excite samples with radiation and analyze the elemental composition and content in the samples. The instrument is equipped with an X-ray source, which excites the sample to release fluorescent signals, and then analyzes these signals through a detector to calculate the content of each element in the sample. For the sulfur determination function, the instrument can accurately determine the sulfur content in the sample and is widely used in industries such as petroleum, coal, and chemical raw materials.

The following are the routine operating steps of a desktop energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence multi-element sulfur analyzer:
1. Sample preparation
Prepare appropriate samples based on the type of sample to be analyzed. For solid samples, they can be processed through methods such as pressing and grinding; For liquid samples, specialized sample containers can be used for measurement.
1. Solid sample: Cut or crush the sample to the appropriate particle size, and use a sample press to press the sample into standard sized and thick sheets.
2. Liquid sample: It is necessary to ensure the uniformity of the liquid sample and prevent precipitates from affecting the test results.
2. Sample placement
Place the prepared sample on the sample table of the instrument. Most desktop X-ray fluorescence instruments are equipped with specialized sample trays that can easily hold samples of different shapes. When placing the sample, ensure that the surface of the sample is flat and the measurement range from the detector is within an appropriate range.
3. Set analysis parameters
Set the operating parameters of the instrument based on the sample type and analysis requirements. Common parameter settings include:
X-ray energy: Select the appropriate X-ray energy based on the composition of the sample to ensure that the sample can be fully excited.
Analysis time: Set an appropriate analysis time based on the complexity of the sample and the concentration of element content. Samples with higher complexity or lower content may require longer analysis time.
Element selection: In the software interface, select the element to be analyzed and confirm whether it contains sulfur and other elements.
4. Start analysis
After setting all parameters, click the "Start Analysis" button, and the instrument will automatically perform analysis. This process may last for a few minutes, depending on the complexity of the sample and the type of elements. During the analysis process, the instrument emits X-rays to excite the sample and release fluorescent signals, which are then detected and recorded in real-time.
5. Data Processing and Analysis
After completing the analysis, the software will automatically generate a data report showing the content of each element in the sample, especially the sulfur content. Based on the analysis results, users can further verify the data to see if it meets the predetermined standards.
To maintain the long-term stable operation of the instrument, users should regularly maintain and upkeep the instrument
1. Regular cleaning: Keep the sample stage, detector window and other components clean to prevent dust and sample residue from affecting the measurement results.
2. Regular calibration: Ensure calibration before and after each use, especially after changing samples and prolonged disuse.
3. Regular inspection: Check the working condition of components such as X-ray sources and detectors.
Through the introduction of this article, we hope that users can master its basic operating methods, avoid common problems, and effectively improve usage efficiency and accuracy. Reasonable operation and scientific maintenance will help extend the service life of the desktop energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence multi-element sulfur analyzer.
