Installation and usage precautions for bimetallic thermometers
Date: 2025-07-08Read: 16
Bimetallic thermometerIt is the principle of a bimetallic sheet composed of two metals or alloys with different coefficients of thermal expansion. When these two metals or alloys are combined together, they will undergo varying degrees of thermal expansion when heated, causing the bimetallic strip to bend or twist. By measuring the degree of deformation of bimetallic strips, the correlation value with temperature can be indirectly measured.

Installation steps:

1. Select installation location:

Avoid interference sources: stay away from heat sources, cold sources, vibration sources, or direct sunlight to reduce external influences.

Strong representativeness: Choose a location that can reflect the true temperature of the measured medium.

Easy to observe: Ensure that the pointer disk is clear and visible, and avoid tilting or inverted installation (unless it is a special design model).

2. Fixed method:

Threaded connection: By screwing the thread at the end of the protective tube into the equipment interface, it is necessary to use a sealing tape or gasket to prevent leakage.

Flange connection: suitable for high-pressure or large-diameter pipelines, ensuring that the flange sealing surface is flat.

Fixed bracket: For situations where direct installation is not possible, use a bracket to fix the thermometer and maintain a vertical or horizontal position.

3. Insertion depth:

The protective tube should be inserted into the measured medium to a sufficient depth to ensure that the sensitive element of the thermometer fully contacts the medium.

Avoid contact between the bottom of the protective tube and the container wall or sediment to prevent measurement errors.

Bimetallic thermometerPrecautions for use:

1. Avoid collision with the protective tube to prevent bending or deformation.

2. It is strictly prohibited to twist the instrument casing to avoid damaging the internal structure.

3. Clean the dial and pointer to ensure clear readings.

4. Verify measurement values to ensure accuracy.
