What are the safety operating procedures for polymerization reactors
Date: 2025-10-28Read: 1
Aggregation reactorThe kettle cover is equipped with functions such as pressure display, liquid feed inlet, inlet and outlet gas, sampling, evaporation, safety device, temperature collection, etc. The equipment adopts an oil bath jacket to ensure stable temperature inside the kettle. The device adopts a 10.2-inch touch screen and is equipped with control software, which displays and records real-time temperature, pressure, stirring and other data inside the kettle. It is also equipped with functions such as pressure and temperature grading alarm, process data recording and transmission, historical trend statistics of various data, etc. It can also be operated on a computer or mobile app.
Preparation before operation:
Personnel requirements: Operators must undergo professional training and pass the assessment. Fatigue or working alone is strictly prohibited.
Equipment inspection:
Check the status of the power supply, water supply, vacuum system, and valves to ensure that the sealing gaskets are intact.
Verify that pressure gauges, safety valves, thermocouples, and other instruments are functioning properly and grounded reliably.
Material preparation: The feeding amount should not exceed 3/4 of the kettle volume, and high viscosity materials need to be pre mixed.
Control during operation:
Start sequence: Start stirring first (low-speed start), then gradually increase the temperature to avoid local overheating.
Parameter monitoring:
Temperature control: The temperature difference between the jacket and the inner liner should be ≤ 5 ℃, and the temperature should be immediately reduced when it exceeds the limit.
Pressure management: Emergency discharge through pressure relief valve in case of overpressure, and simultaneous operation of steam and cooling valves is prohibited.
Feeding standards:
Curing agents should be added below 70 ℃, and the pressure should be balanced when adding the material dropwise.
It is strictly prohibited to use low boiling point solvents such as acetone and benzene.
Shutdown and maintenance
Shutdown steps:
Cool down naturally to below 60 ℃ before discharging, turn off the power, water source, and valves.
When releasing pressure, first open the exhaust valve to avoid the vacuum pump sucking backwards.
Cleaning and maintenance:
Long term disuse requires cleaning with diluent, and monthly maintenance of seals and mixing systems.
During acid washing, control the concentration of nitric acid and maintain a temperature of ≤ 140 ℃.
