Explanation of Working Principle and Heating Method of Vertical Reactor
Date: 2025-12-13Read: 1
A vertical reactor is a closed container used in industries such as chemical and food to complete chemical reactions. Its core function is to provide a controlled environment for material mixing, heat transfer, and chemical reactions. It promotes uniform mixing of materials through a stirring device, accurately regulates the reaction temperature using heat transfer structures such as jackets and coils, and maintains internal pressure with a sealing device to ensure safe and effective reaction.
Its applications include processes such as material synthesis, distillation, and concentration, and are widely used in industries such as chemical new materials, water treatment, and petroleum. According to the requirements, the reaction kettle can be customized with different materials (such as stainless steel, enamel glass), heating methods (electric heating, oil heating, etc.), and stirring forms (paddle type, anchor type, etc.).
The vertical reactor generates circumferential, radial, and axial flow of materials through the rotation of the stirring device, forming an overall flow pattern and enhancing the mixing effect. At the same time, the heat transfer device controls the reaction temperature through a jacket or a coil to ensure that the reaction proceeds under preset conditions. Its vertical installation method facilitates the addition and discharge of materials, and the vertical downward design of the mixing shaft reduces mechanical wear and improves equipment stability.
Heating method
Electric heating: Accurate temperature control, easy operation, suitable for laboratory or small-scale production.
Oil heating/gas heating: suitable for medium to high temperature requirements, uniform heating, commonly used in industrial production.
Water heating/cooling: used in situations where accurate temperature control or cooling is required.
Open flame heating: suitable for large industrial reactors, but difficult to control temperature.
Key points for safe operation
Capacity control: The capacity of the reaction cup should not exceed 80%, usually not more than half, to prevent material boiling or splashing.
Reaction restriction: Avoid conducting reactions that generate a large amount of heat or gas in the reaction vessel to prevent sudden pressure increases.
Temperature monitoring: To prevent the oven temperature from being too high (actual temperature is much higher than the set temperature), keep a distance from the oven when heating up.
Cooling requirements: The material can only be removed after cooling to room temperature. Facial, hand, foot, and respiratory protective equipment should be worn when taking out and opening the kettle.
Gas monitoring: Air replacement and gas monitoring should be carried out in the operating area to ensure that the concentration of flammable and explosive gases is below the safety threshold.
Maintenance inspection: Regularly inspect the sealing device, mixing shaft, and transmission components to prevent wear or leakage from causing safety accidents.
