The FerroCheck 2000 series portable iron meter can accurately detect the concentration of ferromagnetic particles in lubricating oil and grease. The detection time is fast, about 30 seconds. Less samples are required, only 1.5ml oil sample is needed for lubricating oil, and 0.75ml oil sample is needed for lubricating grease. The ferromagnetic particles measured by FerroCheck include both small particles from normal equipment wear and large particles from abnormal wear.
The core of the FerroCheck 2000 portable iron meter is the precisely wound magnetic induction coil that generates a magnetic field. When a small amount of oil is inserted into a coil, ferromagnetic particles such as iron, nickel, cobalt, etc. will interact with the magnetic field and cause impedance changes in the coil. The change in impedance is directly proportional to the concentration of ferromagnetic particles in the oil, and the greater the change in impedance, the higher the concentration of ferromagnetic particles.

The design of the sample tube for lubricating oil or grease is to ensure that the sample is in the optimal position in the measuring coil. Before measuring the sample, the influence of external temperature changes on the measurement is eliminated, and the current in the coil is automatically balanced. If the influence of the operator themselves and environmental temperature is not considered, the test results are also stable and reproducible, which is crucial for on-site analysis of lubricating oil and grease.
