The evaporation of culture medium during long-term cultivation of neurons has a significant impact on cell health. This is particularly true in microfluidic devices and chips with smaller pores. To overcome these issues, Xona has developed a ChipTray that can be integrated with XonaChips ®, Our silicone equipment is used together with all other microfluidic devices. In addition to reducing evaporation, ChipTray also provides a molded casing for phase contrast imaging using an air objective lens.


The neuronal device provided by Xona Microfluidics LLC in the United States is made of optically transparent polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and biologically inert materials. The neuronal device consists of two chambers connected by microgrooves. Xona offers a variety of silicone device configurations. SND is the original 2-compartment. TCND has 3 compartments, providing multiple experimental possibilities. The circular device (RD) is compatible with selected glass dishes, making it suitable for live cell imaging.

XonaChips ® This is a new innovation in neuronal cultivation!
XonaChips ® Pre assembled and pre bonded, it is easier to use than our original silicone equipment. These plastic chips can improve the long-term cultivation of animal model neurons. They are particularly useful for cultivating neurons derived from human stem cells, providing better cell attachment and long-term growth.
XonaChips ® It is optically transparent and very suitable for real-time fluorescence imaging.
Currently, Xona is offering two rooms of XonaChips ® The XC series features microgroove barriers of 150, 450, or 900 μ m. Each box (5) of XC series XonaChips ® Both are equipped with 2 ml XC Pre Coat tubes.
At present, Xona also offers XonaChips with 3 compartments ® The XC-T series is equipped with (2) 500 μ m microgroove barriers, including a 500 μ m central compartment or a 1000 μ m central compartment. Each box (5) of XC-T series XonaChips ® Including 2 (2) ml XC Pre Coat tubes.
XC Pre Coat and XonaPDL can be transformed into XonaChips ® Use together.
Chiptray

The size of the tray is compatible with the standard ANSI microplate bracket. There are two sinks at both ends of the tray, two for XonaChips ® The slot (XC150, XC450, XC900, XC-T-500 or XC-T-1000). Silicone devices installed on glass or any other slide based microfluidic devices you will use are also compatible with these trays. There is a notch in each slot, which can be used with an inverted microscope to improve image quality. ChipTray is ready for tissue culture.
