correct usagePHElectrode counting,pHSensor posture:
⑴There should be no bubbles at the front end of the bubble. If there are bubbles, they should be forcefully thrown away.
⑵After removing the electrode from the soaking bottle, it should be shaken and shaken in deionized water, and the bulb should not be wiped with a tissue. Otherwise, due to electrostatic induction, the charge will transfer to the glass film, which will prolong the time for the potential to stabilize. A better method is to rinse the electrode with the tested solution.
⑶pHAfter inserting the composite electrode into the tested solution, it should be stirred and shaken a few times before being placed still, which will accelerate the response of the electrode. Especially when using plastic shellspHWhen using composite electrodes, stirring and shaking should be more intense because there is a small cavity between the bulb and the plastic shell. Sometimes, after the electrode is immersed in the solution, the gas in the cavity cannot be eliminated in time, resulting in bubbles and poor contact between the bulb or liquid interface and the solution. Therefore, it is necessary to stir and shake vigorously to eliminate the bubbles.
⑷After testing in the viscous sample, the electrode must be repeatedly rinsed with deionized water multiple times to remove the sample adhered to the glass film. Sometimes it is necessary to wash the sample with other solvents first, then rinse it with water to remove the solvent, and immerse it in the soaking solution for activation.
⑸Avoid contact with strong alkali or corrosive solutions. If testing such solutions, try to minimize immersion time and carefully clean after use.
⑹Avoid using in dehydrating media such as anhydrous ethanol and concentrated sulfuric acid, which will damage the hydrated gel layer on the surface of the bulb.
⑺molded casepHThe shell material of the composite electrode isPolycarbonate plastic(PC),PCPlastics dissolve in some solvents, ascarbon tetrachlorideTrichloroethylene, *, etc. If the above solvents are present in the test, it will damage the electrode casing. In this case, a glass casing should be used insteadpHComposite electrode.
pHelectrode(PHElectrode counting,PHCharacteristics of sensors:
⑴Asymmetric potential: When the internal and external reference electrodes of the electrode have the same reference solution, theoreticallyBattery electromotive forceIt should be equal to zero, but in reality, there is always a potential difference of several millivolts to tens of millivolts, which indicates that the two interfaces inside and outside the glass bulb are asymmetric. This potential difference is called asymmetric potential. Asymmetric potential is related to the process of bubble blowing, as well as to the erosion or contamination of the bubble surface during use. In practical use, it can be eliminated by a specially designed positioning regulator of the electric meter.
⑵Zero potential:pHThe zero potential of an electrode refers topHMeasure the potential of the solution when the battery is at zeropHValue. It depends on the internal reference solutionpHValue and chloride ion concentration. If the internal reference solution is0.025mol/LMixed phosphate solution, zero potential of electrodepHValue greater or less than the zero potential of the electrodepHWhen the value is reached, the polarity of the electrode will change.
⑶Internal resistance: The internal resistance of an electrode is mainly determined by the internal resistance of the bubble glass film, which depends on the composition and thickness of the glass. The resistance value is generally several tens of megaohms. And it increases exponentially with decreasing temperature (every decrease)7℃Increase in internal resistance1Multiple, for example28℃When is50Megaohms, then0℃When is800Megaohms). Electrodes with high internal resistance have high requirements for the input impedance and insulation shielding of the meter, so it is better to have a lower internal resistance of the electrode.
⑷Alkali error and acid error: When the acidity and alkalinity of the measured solution increase, the electrode potential changes with the solutionpHThe value will deviate from the linear relationship, and this deviation is called alkali error and acid error. The alkaline error is due to the fact that in solutions with low hydrogen ion concentrations, the response of the electrode membrane is not only related to the concentration of hydrogen ions, but also to the concentration of alkali metal ions in the solution. Alkali error causes measurementpHThe value is lower than the actual value. The acid error is relatively lowpHWithin the scope(pH<1~2)Appearing, acid error causedpHThe measured value is higher than the actual value.
