QuintSonic 7 Precision through Innovative Technology
Ultrasonic thickness gauges can measure the thickness of paint and plastic coatings on plastics, metals, wood, glass, and ceramics. It is possible to measure the thickness of 5 layers of coating without damage at once.
The QuintSonic 7, which adopts innovative technology, is the first thickness gauge that can accurately measure the coating thickness on GRP (thermosetting plastic or fiberglass) and CRP (low-temperature steel) workpieces. This innovative technology is achieved through the A-type scanning image function. You can directly display chart information without connecting the instrument to a computer. This maximizes the reliability of measurement in any situation, making QuintSonic 7 the ideal tool for on-site, laboratory, or workshop measurements. QuintSonic 7 is widely used in all industries that require high-precision measurement, such as automotive manufacturing and handicrafts.
Another function of QuintSonic 7 is to measure the thickness of thin substrates through coatings. The working principle is based on ultrasonic reflection. The ultrasonic pulses emitted by the Quint Sonic 7 intelligent probe enter the coating, and when the pulses are transmitted to the bonding surface of the coating or the interface with the substrate, a part of the pulses are reflected back These reflected ultrasonic pulses are received by sensors, and the thickness of the coating is calculated based on the speed at which the sound waves propagate through the medium. The outstanding feature of QuintSonic 7: The instrument adopts the most advanced sensing technology and innovative software to achieve high-precision measurement in application, which was previously impossible to achieve. QSoft software can display A-scan images during measurement, which can obtain more accurate data. Parameter settings are used to define measurement range, anti-interference, echo diagnosis, and estimate cutoff band range. By setting a cutoff band, clutter can be eliminated, such as clutter caused by substrate GRP or CRP fibers.
3-layer overlay pulse image
Another difficulty in ultrasonic coating thickness measurement is to measure the thickness of coatings with similar characteristics. The difference in impedance values of these coatings is not sufficient to distinguish the feedback ultrasonic pulses. QuintSonic 7 has solved this problem through technological innovation, and weaker pulse signals can be clearly distinguished. Therefore, complex measurement tasks can be reliably and accurately completed.
A new feature added to the instrument is the ability to embed the sound velocity of standard samples into the instrument. Once the sound velocity of a certain medium is determined, it can be stored in a database for retrieval and use. This can reduce the setup time during measurement.
