The determination of dissolved gas content in insulating oil by gas chromatography is an effective means for power generation and supply enterprises to determine whether there are latent overheating, discharge and other faults in oil filled power equipment during operation, in order to ensure the safe and effective operation of the power grid. It is also a necessary means for oil filled electrical equipment manufacturers to conduct factory inspections of their equipment.

Adopting a three detector process with single injection and dual column parallel connection, equipped with TCD detector and two FID detectors, where H2 and O2 are detected by TCD; Hydrocarbon gases (methane, ethylene, ethane, acetylene) are detected by FID1, while CO and CO2 are detected by FID2, overcoming the influence of CO and CO2 on hydrocarbon gases, especially acetylene. Its detection limit for acetylene can reach 0.05ppm.
