5-Hole-Box SystemTSE Five Hole Box SystemThe TSE 5-Hole-Box system is designed to perform attention tests based on visual discrimination （'5-choice serial reaction time task'）. Short-lasting visual stimuli are given in pseudo-random order in all of 5 stimulus holes or in selected holes only. Responses into the holes are monitored with infrared sensors – correct responses are reinforced with the reward given directly into the hole or in one common reward area on the opposite wall. In order to increase attentional load distracting sound or noise can be presented through a loudspeaker module

TSE Five Hole Box SystemThe purpose is to perform a visual discrimination based attention test ("5-select series reaction time task"). Short and persistent visual stimuli are randomly assigned to all 5 stimulation holes or only to selected holes. The entry reaction is monitored by infrared sensors - the correct reaction is enhanced, and the reward can be directly placed in the response hole or in a common reward range on the opposite wall. To enhance attention, induced sound or noise can be provided through a speaker module

The software generates a table of results that discriminates incorrect & correct responses, outputs average latencies for correct & incorrect responses and calculates number of premature responses （measure of impulsivity）. A frequency distribution lists number of visits in each hole. For maximum flexibility the integrated program editor allows the generation of user-defined paradigms such as 2-Choice Reaction Time task （2-CRT） or other procedures

• Pellet or liquid reinforcement – variable reinforcer position. The pellets are available in sizes of 14/ 20/ 45 mg （mice 14mg, rats 20/45mg）.
Eating pills or beverages can enhance the position of variable enhancers. There are various sizes of food pills 14/20/45 milligrams (14 milligrams for mice, 20/45 milligrams for rats)
