The TDC4 temperature controller works together with the Gamry potentiostat to control the heating and cooling processes required for the critical pitting temperature experiment.

The TDC4 temperature controller can control the heating and cooling processes during the experiment. It is designed to perfectly integrate with the CPT110 critical pitting temperature software that runs ASTM G150 standard. The temperature limit, step size, and delay period can all be controlled by the user.

TDC4 is based on the Omega temperature controller, which provides a range of excellent features. TDC4 is controlled by your computer, while CPT110 critical pitting temperature software is controlled through a standard 9 or 25 pin RS-232 serial port. Turn on or off the heating and cooling sources connected to the electrochemical cell through TDC4 to maintain the desired temperature. TDC4 is a closed-loop system that can measure the temperature of an electrochemical cell using platinum RTD and use feedback control to control the heater and/or cooler. TDC4 can be used in on/off mode or PID (proportional, integral, derivative) mode. The on/off mode uses hysteresis parameters to control its switching, while the PID mode uses tuning parameters.
