In addition to directly measuring sound velocity, temperature, and pressure, SWiFT also uses the Valeport specialized algorithm to calculate salinity and density. This algorithm has been validated through extensive experiments and practical work experience, with a calculation accuracy of 0.05 pSU for salinity and 0.05 grams per cubic meter for density. The battery can work for up to five days and can be charged quickly through USB connection. SWiFT SVP is a compact, robust, and portable integrated device that provides high-quality sound velocity profile data for nearshore, port, and inland hydrographic measurement services.

Optional: The deployment weight provided can be used on the bolts on the protective cage, allowing SWiFT to achieve deeper depth when the water flow rate is fast.

Sensor parameters

The SWiFT SVP is equipped with Valeport digital time-of-flight sound velocity sensor, temperature compensated piezoresistive pressure sensor, and PRT temperature sensor.

IPad and iPhone devices can use iOS apps for settings, data uninstallation and display, and interpretation of common SVP data formats.
The app for Android devices will be released later.

The DataLog x2 software based on Windows PC can be used for device settings, data export, display, and conversion to common SVP data formats.
