The Delfin SkinColor Catch skin color measurement instrument has a wide range of applications in the medical and cosmetics industries. The erythema and melanin index are indicators for quantifying the intensity of skin erythema and pigmentation. Using traditional skin tone measuring instruments, the measurement of erythema is often affected by melanin, and vice versa. These issues have been addressed in the portable and pocket sized Del6nSkinColorCatch. The device also displays RGB, CIE L * a * b, and L * c * h * color coordinates, and automatically calculates ITA degrees to classify skin tone.

SkinColor Catch Instrument and Measurement Principle
The white LEDs corresponding to sunlight were first arranged in a circular pattern indoors in SkinColor Catch. When SkinColor Catch is gently placed on the skin, the LED illuminates the skin at a 45 degree angle to minimize shine. The light reflected back from the skin is detected using an RGB color sensor.
The measurement is not affected by environmental lighting conditions, and the optical aperture of SkinColor Catch can minimize the bleaching effect caused by skin contact pressure.
