The Delfin SkinGlossMeter measures the reflected light of the skin and other surfaces to accurately determine their glossiness. In SkinGlossMeter, the light beam is reflected back at the same angle as the contact surface being measured; SkinGlossMeters is an industrial standard glossiness unit (GU) based on international standards and uses international ISO, ASTM, and DIN standards. The skin glossiness unit (SGU) displayed is directly derived from the industrial glossiness standard and is the actual amplification unit of the skin display value.

SkinGlossMeter measures the reflected light of the skin and other surfaces to accurately determine their glossiness. In SkinGlossMeter, the light beam is reflected back at the same angle as the contact surface being measured.

SkinGlossMeters is an industrial standard glossiness unit (GU) based on international standards and uses international ISO, ASTM, and DIN standards. The skin glossiness unit (SGU) displayed is directly derived from the industrial glossiness standard and is the actual amplification unit of the skin display value.

As a light source, the instrument is equipped with a 635 nm red semiconductor diode laser with a spot diameter of 50mm.

The glossiness value is measured using a photodetector and the total intensity of the reflected beam is calculated. The power of the laser has been optimized for precise measurement, less than 1mW, to ensure that the SkinGlossMeter is a safe instrument.
