This voltage output is controlled by a logic switch, allowing these modules to share a common analog bus without the need for an external multiplexer.
The SCM5B module is designed with an isolated computer side circuit that can float from the power common terminal, pin 16, to ± 50V. This isolation means that the normal operation of the output switch does not require a connection between the I/O common terminal and the power common terminal. If necessary, simply connect the Read Enable pin to pin 19 (I/O Common) and the output switch can be continuously turned on.
The signal filtering is performed using a six pole filter, providing 95dB at 60Hz and 90dB of normal mode suppression at 50Hz. The two poles of this filter are on the field side of the isolation barrier, and the other four poles are on the computer side.
After preliminary filtering on site, the input signal is chopped by an appropriate chopper circuit. Using transformer coupling to provide isolation, and then using technology to suppress the transmission of common mode spikes or surges. The module adopts+5VDC, ± 5% Power supply.
The special input circuit on SCM5B30 and SCM5B31 modules can protect the modules from the danger caused by accidental connections of power line voltages up to 40VAC.
