SVS-1 visibility sensor

The SVS-1 visibility meter measures atmospheric visibility (meteorological optical distance) by measuring the total number of discrete light particles (smoke, dust, haze, fog, rainfall, and snowfall) passing through the sampling room in the air. A forward scattering angle of 42 ° is used to confirm the particle size over a wide range. The user calculates MOR using the Koschmeider equation by converting the received signal strength (extinction coefficient, σ), MOR（Km）＝3/σ。

The sensor is designed to be used in all weather conditions, and a complete, integrated structure design can ensure that all internal cables of the sensor are well protected. The mechanism of the sensor is composed of anodized aluminum and durable external maintenance. The anti UV glass fiber can achieve the protection level of the instrumentIP66。 Based on the proven NWS and FAA, the sensor adopts a "top-down" geometric design, which reduces window pollution and blockage caused by high snow blowing. The measurement window has an anti dew heater that can be used continuously, and a controllable external temperature regulating heater can be selected to protect the sensor from extreme environments. All power and signal cables are equipped with surge protectors and EMI filters, which can greatly improve the service life and uninterrupted operation time of sensors.

The installation of sensors is simple and maintenance is easy. There is a flange and a1-1/2 inch IPS tube, a 1-inch IPS tube can also be used. Both power and signal cables use waterproof cable connectors, which are connected to the terminal block of the signal processing box.

It is very simple to calibrate sensors on site because there is an attached calibration device on the back of the sensor, and calibration can be completed through the corresponding program in less than20 minutes of time, it is recommended that users calibrate once every six months.
