The microorganisms used for antibiotics are oxygen consuming bacteria, and during the cultivation process, oxygen (air) must be continuously provided. Otherwise, microorganisms cannot grow and synthesize antibiotics better. Therefore, when using a shaker to cultivate microorganisms, the eccentricity and rotation speed of the shaker are important factors affecting microbial growth and antibiotic synthesis. Thus, the emergence of this shaker has created better experimental conditions for the research and application of biopharmaceuticals in China.

Increasing the eccentricity of the shaker is more effective in improving the oxygen supply during the cultivation process and increasing the dissolved oxygen content in the culture medium than increasing the rotational speed. For example, in an experiment with a 500ml triangular flask containing 50ml of culture medium, a shaking table with an eccentric distance of 25mm at 220-250rpm can make the rotating liquid level of the culture medium reach 6-6.2cm, forming a thin layer of culture medium around the bottle wall, significantly increasing the gas-liquid contact area and thus improving the "intake" and CO2 removal speed of the culture medium from the air. When the eccentricity is 13mm, under the condition of 300rpm, the liquid level height of the culture medium is only 4-4.2cm, and at 350rpm, the liquid level height is about 5cm. Therefore, when using a small eccentricity to cultivate microorganisms, the only way to improve the oxygen uptake rate is to reduce the filling amount and increase the rotation speed too high. The disadvantage is that the filling amount is too small, and when the cultivation time is long, the amount of water evaporated in the culture medium is too large, causing the culture medium to be too viscous and resulting in a decrease in dissolved oxygen. It is difficult to increase the "oxygen uptake" rate by raising the speed too high (above 300rpm). Therefore, the large eccentricity and large amplitude bottle shaking machine * solves this problem.
