Product Details

SKC sampling bag Tedlar from the United States ® 232-01

1. Core Specifications

  • Part Number: 232-01

  • Brand: SKC (USA)

  • Capacity: 1 Liter

  • Material: DuPont ™ Tedlar ® (PVF, Polyfluoroethylene) film

    • Thickness: 2 mil (approximately 0.05 mm)

    • Characteristics: Excellent chemical inertness, wear resistance, and low adsorption.

  • Dimensions: Approximately 22.86 x 17.78 cm (9 'x 7')

  • Packaging (Pack Size): Usually 10 pieces per pack (standard order number 232-01), there are also single pack sizes (232-01A).

2. Connections&Valves

The feature of this model is equipped with a single polypropylene combination joint:

  • 2-in-1 design: Integrate the hose connection and the injection septum into a lightweight connector.

  • Valve function: The entire joint itself serves as a shut-off valve. By rotating the joint, the air path can be opened or closed.

  • Injection spacer: with Teflon on the top ®) The lining spacer allows the use of airtight needles for injection or sample extraction.

  • Temperature resistance: The upper operating temperature limit for polypropylene joints is approximately 93.3 ° C (200 ° F).

3. Application scope (Applications)

SKC Tedlar ® Bags are considered the industry standard for gas sampling (referring to the US EPA method) and are suitable for:

  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs): They exhibit good stability even at low concentrations (ppm/ppb level).

  • Gases: such as carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (Methane), sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), etc.

  • Partial sulfides: have good short-term stability against hydrogen sulfide (H2S), methyl mercaptan, etc. (usually recommended for analysis within 24-48 hours).

4. Key Usage Guidelines

  • Storage time: Samples are recommended to be analyzed within 24-48 hours and are not recommended for long-term storage as gases may penetrate or undergo surface adsorption.

  • Sampling pump connection: It is recommended to use PTFE (Teflon) material pipeline to connect the sampling pump to reduce pipeline adsorption.

  • Unstoppable pressure: only designed for sampling under atmospheric pressure. Do not overfill or pressurize the bag, as it may cause it to rupture.

  • Cleaning and cleansing: It is usually recommended to clean with high-purity nitrogen or clean air (inflation exhaust) at least 3 times before use to reduce background interference.

5. Common supporting equipment

  • Vacuum sampling box (Vac-U-Chamber): Due to its single valve design, it is often used in conjunction with SKC's small vacuum sampling box (which collects gas through negative pressure principle without passing through a pump to avoid contamination).

  • Low flow air sampling pump: such as SKC Pocket Pump or AirChek series.
