The RDE710 rotating electrode is a research grade rotator characterized by the ability to use rotating ring electrodes, disk electrodes, and cylindrical electrodes. The speed can be adjusted between 50 and 10000 rpm (revolutions per minute). The controller is equipped with a liquid crystal display (LCD) that can display the speed, which is controlled by a speed knob. Alternatively, you can also control the speed through your Gamry. The electrode device of the rotator adopts a universal design and can be applied to different types of electrodes. According to your desired application, you can choose different shafts and electrode heads. Different axes can be used for disk electrode and column experiments or ring electrode experiments.
When monitoring the products generated by the circular electrode, a rotating circular electrode is used. These experiments require the use of dual potentiometers, and Gamry can provide instruments that use two standard Gamry dual potentiometers to synchronously collect data when connected to the same computer. We offer a variety of ring disk electrodes, including platinum platinum, gold gold, and glassy carbon glassy carbon electrodes.
The rotating disk experiment is performed when defining the mass transport to the sample electrode. An example of this type of experiment could be catalyst evaluation.
The rotating cylinder experiment is very important for the petroleum industry, as it simulates the corrosive environment inside pipelines to eliminate the need for installing expensive flow circuit equipment. Due to the turbulent flow state of a rotating cylinder, it exhibits a disordered state even at low speeds, making it an ideal tool. The column can be made of various different metals for evaluating its performance, including 1018 carbon steel, 316 stainless steel, and 430 stainless steel. Users can use the materials they actually own to make cylindrical samples.
The electrodes of the rotator are sold separately, including many standard materials such as gold, platinum, glassy carbon, carbon steel, stainless steel, and so on. Customized materials can also be used according to specific needs.
