Rockwell Automation provides users with an additional network option by expanding the Allen Bradley POINT I/O product line, enabling easy connection to devices with serial ports, and expanding the number of available channels in a single system. The new EtherNet/IP adapter, serial interface, and three new modules have expanded connection options, improved its measurability, and supported product integration.
Rockwell Automation is continuously evolving and revolutionizing the field of equipment and controller interfaces in the industry, "said Jerry Penick, Distributed I/O Market Manager at Rockwell Automation. With these new POINT I/O products, users can benefit from Ethernet technology, doubling their average I/O channels per adapter and adding a direct peripheral interface to their on-site RS-485 and RS-422 devices. ”
1734 POINT I/O is highly suitable for application projects that require flexibility and lower cost of ownership. Granularity from 1 to 8 allows you to purchase only the I/O you need. The compact design makes installation easier in limited panel space. This series includes POINT Guard I/O security level I/O modules, which can be used side by side in standard POINT I/O systems. Network connectivity includes ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, and other open networks. Some modules use DeviceLogix intelligent component technology to integrate low-cost logic solving capabilities into your I/O, which can shorten the perceived execution time.
AB Rockwell 1771-NC6-PLC moduleIntroduction:
communication interface
Through the Bulletin 1734 POINT I/O communication adapter module, the POINT I/O module can exchange data with the I/O scanner through a communication network. Communication adapters can be used for EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and other networks.
POINT I/O module
Bulletin 1734 POINT I/O provides not only POINT Guard safety related I/O, but also digital, analog, and special function I/O, with 1 to 8 points per module. You can mix standard I/O and secure I/O in the same system. The comprehensive diagnostic and configurable features make POINT I/O very easy to apply.
POINT Guard I/O module
The POINT Guard I/O module is a safety I/O module designed for installation into standard POINT I/O systems, providing automation and safety features in a dense I/O solution. For GuardLogix controllers, POINT Guard I/O communicates using the CIP security protocol based on EtherNet/IP; For the SmartGuard 600 controller, communication is conducted through DeviceNet.
power supply
Bulletin 1734 POINT I/O power supply components extend the POINT I/O system and allow for flexible mixing of various signal types.
terminal block
Bulletin 1734 Terminal Block Assembly consists of an installation base and a separate Removable Terminal Block (RTB). Installation of base on DIN rail. The detachable terminal block is inserted into the installation base and provides terminal positions for on-site wiring. Insert the POINT I/O module into the mounting base above the detachable terminal block.
AB Rockwell 1771-NC6-PLC moduleFault analysis:
The modules of SLC500 are generally 1746- XXXXX, and the CPU is 1747. Its addressing method is slot selection. The power modules are generally 1746-P1, P2, P3, and P4, with only P3 being 24V DC and the rest being 220V AC input. PLC5 has a CPU of 1785-L20, L30, etc. It can connect up to four remote I/O channels and up to three remote I/O nodes (number of physical devices). The power module is 1771-P7. The addressing methods of PLC5 include 2-slot addressing, 1-slot addressing, and 1/2 slot addressing. 2-slot addressing refers to one word (16 bits) in the input/output mapping table corresponding to each physical 2-slot I/O group. 1-channel addressing refers to one physical slot corresponding to one word (16 bits) in the input/output mapping table. 1/2 slot addressing refers to one physical slot corresponding to two words (32 bits) in the input/output mapping table.
Both types of CPUs have a key switch that can be switched between RUN, ROG, and REM. RUN is for running, ROG is for programming, and REM is between the two, which can be defined by software as RUN or ROG. If you switch from RUN to REM, it is RUN, and if you switch from ROG to REM, it is ROG. The lights on the CPU of SLC500 include RUN, FLT, BATT, DH+, FORCE, RS232, which respectively represent normal, fault, low battery, DH+communication normal, forced output, and serial communication when lit up. When the light BATT on the CPU of PLC5 lights up, it indicates insufficient battery voltage; PROC green indicates operation, red indicates malfunction; When FORC lights up, it indicates that forced I/O is valid; When CO Meimei lights up, it indicates that the communication status is normal. The communication between them, including the remote adapter card, adopts DH+communication link, and the upper computer communicates with the CPU by running RSLinx Lite or RSLinx Gatewey software on the computer. Local programming can use RS-232 or DH+communication links, while remote programming can use DH+or Ethernet.
