Selection of Heat Carrier

The determination of the heat carrier and its maximum temperature depends on factors such as the properties of the solid material being processed and whether it is allowed to be contaminated.
1) If the solid material being processed is not afraid of high temperatures and is not the final product, it is allowed to be slightly contaminated during the processing. A hot blast stove or flue gas can be used as a heat carrier to achieve higher volume evaporation rate and thermal efficiency. For example, for drying materials with high moisture content imported, when the gas inlet temperature is 300 degrees, the volumetric evaporation rate of the dryer is 5kg/M3/h, and the thermal efficiency is 30% -50%; If the inlet temperature of the gas is 500 degrees, the volumetric evaporation rate is 35kg/M3/h; The thermal efficiency is 50% -70%. So for rotary dryers equipped with combustion furnaces that directly produce flue gas for processing materials such as ore, sand, coal, and calcium persulfate, gas fuels can be coal, oil, natural gas, liquefied gas, etc.
2) If the processed materials are not allowed to be contaminated and require high temperatures, our company's new product gas generator can be used as a heat carrier. This product is energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and has high thermal efficiency. If the local environmental protection requirements are high and you want to save energy and maintain hygiene, using a gas generator would be a good choice. Gas generators are at least 20% more energy-efficient than combustion furnaces, and also greatly reduce labor costs. Generally, gas generators can be operated by one worker without the need for continuous coal addition. In addition, gas generators can be used immediately after shutdown for up to 10 days without operation, and can continue to be used next time.
3) There is also an indirect heating method, where heat is transferred from the metal wall to the material being dried, such as an externally heated rotary dryer.
4) If the dried object is not allowed to be contaminated and is not allowed to be diluted by air, the heat should be transferred through the drum wall. At this time, the drum should be loaded into the brick room, and the outside of the drum should be filled with flue gas. Alternatively, a surface heat exchanger such as a central pipe or column pipe, sleeve, etc. can be installed inside the drum to use metal walls for heat transfer. The heat carrier can be flue gas, water vapor, or electric heating. In dry materials, only clean gas is used to remove evaporated moisture.
The drum dryer mainly includes three forms: single return dryer, double return dryer, and triple return dryer. The three return dryer has the advantages of occupying a small floor area and low energy consumption.
