Classification by proportional valve control method refers to the classification based on the electrical mechanical conversion mode in the pilot control valve of the proportional valve. (1) Electromagnetic electromagnetic valve refers to a proportional valve that uses a proportional electromagnet as an electrical mechanical conversion component. The proportional electromagnet converts the input current signal into force and displacement mechanical signals for output, thereby controlling parameters such as pressure, flow rate, and direction.
(2) Electric type refers to a proportional valve that uses a DC servo motor as an electrical mechanical conversion component. The DC servo motor converts the input electrical signal into rotational speed, and then outputs force and displacement through reduction devices and transformation mechanisms such as screw nuts, gear racks or gear camshafts, further controlling hydraulic parameters.

(3) Electro hydraulic refers to a proportional valve with a structure of a torque motor and nozzle baffle as the pilot control stage. Input different electrical signals to the torque motor and output displacement or angular displacement through the baffle connected to it (sometimes the armature of the torque motor is the baffle), change the distance between the baffle and the nozzle, and change the flow resistance of the oil sprayed from the nozzle, thereby controlling the transmission parameters.
A proportional control valve is a type of control valve that continuously and proportionally controls the flow, pressure, and direction of a hydraulic system based on input electrical signals. Its output flow and pressure are not affected by load changes.
One type is switch control: either fully open or fully closed, with either maximum or minimum flow rate and no intermediate state, such as ordinary electromagnetic through valves, electromagnetic directional valves, and electro-hydraulic directional valves
Another type is continuous control: the valve port can be opened to any desired degree to control the flow rate. This type of valve can be manually controlled, such as throttle valves, or electronically controlled, such as proportional valves and servo valves.
So the purpose of using proportional valves or servo valves is to achieve throttling control of flow through electronic control (although pressure control can also be achieved through structural modifications). Since it is throttling control, there is inevitably energy loss. Unlike other valves, servo valves have greater energy loss because they require a certain amount of flow to maintain the operation of the front-end control oil circuit. Compared with ordinary hydraulic components, proportional valves have the following characteristics:
(1) Electrical signals are easy to transmit and can be easily controlled over long distances.
(2) It can continuously and proportionally control the pressure and flow of the hydraulic system, achieve control over the position, speed, and force of the actuator, and reduce the impact during pressure changes.
(3) Reduced the number of components and simplified the oil circuit.
