Crysta is a high-speed polarization camera used for two-dimensional analysis of birefringence measurement, film thickness analysis, and surface roughness detection. It is a powerful tool for understanding phenomena such as birefringence, delay, stress, and impact fracture mechanisms in materials and fluids. This 2D polarization camera is based on a 1 million pixel CMOS image sensor with a pixel size of 20 μ m, consisting of a pixelated polarizer array directly attached to the sensor using photonic crystals. Four photonic crystals are grouped together, each with a different polarization direction, namely 0 °, 45 °, 90 °, and 135 °.
