The QSight 500 triple quadrupole liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer is the latest mass spectrometry product unveiled by PerkinElmer at the Pittsburgh Analytical Biochemistry Exhibition in March 2025. The combination of QSight 500 and LX50 ultra-high performance liquid chromatography can provide a complete solution from sample preparation, collection methods to processing results and report output, suitable for food safety, industrial research, environmental testing, and scientific research and academic fields.

1) The new generation ion source and EDIT ion source probe ion source: QSight 500 triple quadrupole liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry has upgraded the heating control system of the ion source, which has a higher heating temperature and can provide higher ionization efficiency, especially when using a mobile phase with higher flow rate and higher water phase ratio in liquid-phase methods. Secondly, a new design has been adopted, making the disassembly and installation of the entire ion source more convenient, and allowing for precise adjustment of the ion source position and nozzle length, providing the best ionization position (sweet spot). EDIT ion source probe: The newly released Edit ion source probe has an integrated ceramic design updated to a segmented stainless steel design, and the spray voltage ElectroSpray has been upgraded from Probe IS to Tip IS+Offset. The more refined gradient electric field controls the ion path to achieve better ion focusing effect and improve ion density.

2) Dual ion source design: The ESI and APCI dual ion source design enables QSight to have the "dual card dual standby" function of the ion source. ESI and EDIT ion sources each have heating gas paths and circuits, as well as ion sources, which can be freely combined without manual switching, greatly improving their application range and detection flux. For example: a. One injection can simultaneously collect four modes (ESI positive and negative and APCI positive and negative modes). b. Within one injection sequence, both ESI methods can be submitted, and APCI methods can also be submitted in the same sequence. The flow path is automatically switched by the column switching valve, achieving fully automatic ion source switching. c. One method supports fully automatic ESI/APCI segmented signal acquisition. The use of APCI sources in testing is becoming increasingly widespread. Common items encountered in food safety testing, such as GB 23200.20-2016 and GB/T 20748-2006, use negative mode of APCI sources when detecting avermectin, and SN/T 4066-2014 uses positive mode of APCI sources when detecting acaricide and hydroxyacaricide. The fully automatic ion source switching without manual disassembly brings great convenience to instrument users, greatly reducing instrument hardware switching and waiting time caused by ion source replacement, and improving work efficiency.

3) Excellent anti pollution ability: The double cone hole structure design prevents pollution and blockage, while the reverse drying gas design prevents neutral substances from being inhaled into the mass spectrometer, thereby reducing noise and minimizing instrument contamination. Hot surface induced desolvation technology (HSID): The HSID ion transport interface design heats the surface up to 320 ℃, effectively preventing ion clustering, further removing solvents and promoting ionization, while reducing chemical noise and improving signal-to-noise ratio. High temperature heating prevents pollutants from accumulating along ion pathways,xStayCleanTM technology ensures transmission efficiency without the need for cleaning and maintenance. C dedicated ion source exhaust gas discharge pump: The exhaust gas pump is powered by a power source during operation, forming negative pressure and quickly extracting the exhaust gas from the ion source to prevent neutral molecules, residual pollutants, and ion source pollution.
