A polymer based mixture containing a certain concentration of pigment is passed through an extruder equipped with a melt pump and a porous plate support filter assembly. A melt pressure sensor is installed at the front end of the filter assembly, and the maximum pressure difference between the initial pressure (test base material) and the sensor measured before passing through the small filter assembly after the melt pump is the filtration pressure value (FPV), which is used to characterize the dispersion effect of the color masterbatch.
