The PMA2122 sterilization detector provides rapid and accurate measurement of effective sterilization radiation. The 253.7nm ultraviolet radiation has been used for decades in sterilization applications. Microorganisms (bacteria) in the air and water can be killed by exposure to ultraviolet radiation or a combination of ultraviolet radiation and ozone. The UV light used in the purification system must ensure that it can generate a dose of ultraviolet radiation that kills bacteria. UV lamps must be monitored to ensure their maximum utilization value. By measuring with a detector, not only can expensive UV lamps be ensured to be fully utilized and replaced, but new UV lamps can also be tested for compliance with sterilization standards.
