Overview

The PM10 standard (atmospheric particulate matter) is intended to be used to evaluate the analytical methods for determining selected polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), nitro substituted PAHs (nitro PAHs), polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) homologues, hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD) isomers, sugars, polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxine (PCDD) and dibenzofuran (PCDF) homologues, inorganic components, and particle size characteristics in atmospheric particulate matter and similar matrices.

Product Details

PM10 standard substance (atmospheric particulate matter)It is prepared from atmospheric particulate matter collected from the intake filtration system of an exhibition center,PM10 standard substance (atmospheric particulate matter) isParticles with an aerodynamic equivalent diameter of less than or equal to 10 microns in ambient air, although not intended to represent their collection area, should typically represent atmospheric particles obtained from urban areas.

PM10 standard substance (atmospheric particulate matter)Intended for evaluating the analytical methods of selected polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), nitro substituted PAHs (nitro PAHs), polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) homologues, hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD) isomers, sugars, polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDD) and dibenzofurans (PCDF) homologues, inorganic components, and particle size characteristics in atmospheric particulate matter and similar matrices. All components of PM10 standard (atmospheric particulate matter) that provide certified and non certified values are naturally present in particulate matter.

Certified quality score values: Tables 1, 2, and 3 provide certified quality score values for PAH, nitropolycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and PBDE homologues, respectively. Table 4 provides the certified quality score values for the selected inorganic components. The NIST certification value is the value at which NIST has the highest confidence in its accuracy, as all known or suspected sources of bias have been investigated or considered. The certification value is based on the consistency of results obtained using multiple analytical techniques at NIST, or for cadmium, mercury, and lead, measured using a single primary method at NIST. The measured concentration is the total concentration of each analyte. Metrological traceability is the SI unit of quality, expressed as the derived unit of quality fraction.

Usage: Before taking out the test section for analysis, the contents of the bottle should be mixed. The recommended minimum sample size is 30 mg. The concentration of components in atmospheric particulate matter for SRM2787 is reported on a dry weight basis. The received SRM contains moisture with a mass fraction of approximately 1.2%. When analyzing, a separate SRM test section should be taken from the bottle and dried to determine the moisture content, thereby converting the mass fraction to a dry mass basis.

PM10 standard substance (atmospheric particulate matter)Installed in amber glass bottles, it should be stored at approximately 25 ° C (room temperature) and protected from direct sunlight. This material may contain components with unknown toxicity and is easily atomized. The particle size of most materials is within the range of inhalable airborne particles. Therefore, caution should be exercised during handling and use.

Certification expiration: The SRM2787 certification is valid within the specified measurement uncertainty range until September 30, 2026, provided that the SRM is handled and stored in accordance with the instructions in this certificate. If the SRM is damaged, contaminated, or otherwise modified, the certification is invalid.
